Wheel Directory: VIP Modular VRS13 18x10 et20

Here's my current setup
18x10 et20 with 215/40/18.
BC coils with swift springs
-3 degrees all around
no fender mods

Future
Lower it, roll fenders, and add another degree of negative camber. Then move up to a 225/40 tire.

What is the point of 10" wide wheels when your tire has a contact patch 2" narrower?

DavidBob 05-04-2015 12:30 PM

225's are gonna look dope man, so far so good

Timmy_Jones 05-04-2015 12:36 PM

Cool to see some different wheel styles, but those tires look absurd. You should be running at least a 245, that would look reasonable.

The offset doesn't make sense either, even accentuates the tire size not being correct.

I like the taillights at least.

whats the point of having a 10" contact patch. i dont race or drift. so why cant i run wheels with 4inch lips. a 245 would be nice and im considering doing a meaty fitment but i already had these tires and until im running -6 or so all around a 245 wont fit

6-Shift 05-04-2015 01:56 PM

So much hate!

Looks awesome man, time for some rear lower control arms to dial in the fitment!

Then don't buy the wheels? Buy something that fits. I bet in a reasonable width with matching tires, or even tires that fit those wheels and a dialed in suspension setup it wouldn't look bad.

I wouldn't run diesel stacks on my car, its not a diesel.

boucher 05-05-2015 01:35 PM

Looking nice man. I'm entertaining x10+18 with 225s. Thanks for doing you and dealing with the opinionated posters.

tahdizzle 05-05-2015 01:53 PM

Well to each their own.
Should have known that this was a poser set up once I saw "VIP" in the thread title.

Glad you enjoy your set-up, but I think you should put up a warning or disclaimer on the thread title if you don't want all the opinion that differs from yours.

Personally I think you're wheels are ugly, looks like eddie vedder wearing wing tips. Just don't go together. Oil and Water. Stretching 215 on a 10" wheel is just D.U.M. dumb.

In a nut-shell, My opinion is: You're car is the reason why California is in a drought, Global Warming, Justin Beiber, Terrorism, Bold and the Beautiful, Kimye... Pretty much everything that is wrong in the world.

I'm glad you like it though!

this is why i make these threads. people on the internet are great

Hey, if you can't take some positive feed-back on your wheels, don't put it out there.

You like going around bashing other people's wheels, but my philosophy is "Kill them with kindness.".

i love feedback, i'd like to hear more about why my wheels are ugly and why my tires are dumb

tahdizzle 05-05-2015 02:15 PM

Here's one reason why your wheels are ugly, they match your fuel door.

:bonk:

my stock fuel door? so now your criticizing factory Subaru design and VIP modular. Do you have any professional design experience to back up when things are ugly in your opinion or are you just one of those go fast junky guys that loves turbos and rotas and spending money on anything that has no performance gains is pointless?

I don't have rotas :p

Yes your STOCK fuel door. LOL
Your stock fuel door does not look like mine. :P

probably cause i didn't buy a base model. your stock wheels, front lip, side skirts, rear splats, brake calipers(lol painted), under panels, steering wheel, seats, shift boot, door cards, knee pads, and rear view mirror probably don't look like mine either

asdf 05-05-2015 03:19 PM

imo, that much stretch doesn't look good... 225 would probably look better...

not the style i would go with for my own car. i see your noted future adjustments, will look better when lower w/ more camber so that the wheels aren't way outside of the wheel wells...

toast 05-06-2015 12:40 AM

I have Rotas. They weigh six pounds less than stock and they fit inside the outer dimensions of the car.

I was actually asking a real question, I'm curious what the mindset is for wheels that wide that do nothing but slow the car down and reduce it's handling. If I made a post in the suspension section that said check out my new layout and it was a 5" lift with Mickey Thompson off road tires people would be WTF dude. I see no difference between that and what you are doing. Much like the groups of Hondas I see running around with 12" wheels and -15 degrees of camber.

First off cool wheels, i would have loved to own rotas when i was 16 (not really i rebuilt a custom set of bbs rs's when i was 16). But i don't give a sht about performance, i mean clearly i bought a brz... And mindset? i love this style of modifying. I've lowered all my past cars with subtle amount of camber and beautiful wheels. in my defense this fitment is at the beginning stages, you'll probably end up hating it more... it will be lower, i will add a degree or two more of camber and ill probably go up a tire size to get the tire as close as i can to the fender for perfect fitment.

however now your just trying to hard with your comeback. If your seriously comparing lowering a brz with 3 piece wheels and subtle camber to a lifted brz with mudding tires you clearly are a piece of sht

Wow, with that condescending DB attitude, I'm sure you're not too far away from being 16. I feel sorry for you that you feel the need to lash out at people who don't like your set-ups. Must be awesome living in mommy and daddy's basement so you can afford all the nicest car parts!

Eh, he's mad because real car guys think his set-up is immature, not functional (other than it still rolls, barely), and quite frankely Loud, obnoxious and ugly.

But like I said before, I'm glad he likes them.

Super proud of a 21 year old college graduate that has a good job and apartment to he can mod his car in a way he likes :P

I was in exact situation! Except replace apartment with house and I modified my cars tastefully.

Because I wasn't trying to impress high-school girls anymore :P

everyone has their own version of modified tastefully! I'd say this is a very clean daily/stance/show car. I also love track builds when they look great (slight drop, meaty fitment, and subtle cosmetic mods that pull of the look they are achieving). What i personally don't like is basic builds with pointless sht, tow hooks, stickers, fake wheels, excessive camber, blacked tail lights/headlights etc.

I know what looks good and what doesn't so i enjoy small arguments when people say this build is ugly. You can't associate this with a stereotypical stance build that has -15 camber, obnoxious/fake wheels, and obnoxious/cheap modifications. I understand stretched tires are not for everyone but lets get real and give real feedback if you want. Everyone is currently saying it sucks because i'm being a dck to everyone but then their sounded just as dumb as me trolling them

tahdizzle 05-06-2015 12:35 PM

I said I was glad you liked your build :p

Draco-REX 05-08-2015 09:48 AM

It's a style, like sagging. It looks stupid to those who don't do it. But those that do, like it.

AlexWood 05-08-2015 01:52 PM

*gets butt hurt about wide, custom wheels with stretched tires* *has to go on forums to ask if their 255s will fit on stock suspension* I love this forum!
