Enjoy

How have I never seen your car in Beaverton? There's a few of us other on that side of town.

stockysnail 05-03-2015 02:19 PM

Congrats. On a super air dense day before my supercharger I was able to hit just over 200whp with JDL UEL headers, Nameless high flow catted over/front pipe, stock mid pipe, and Nameless axleback, with Perrin intake. Like I said though the air was really dense, thus more hp. I'm in beaverton too near Nike/Costco. You are my pre modded clone. ;)

stockysnail 05-03-2015 02:28 PM

By the son of Zeus... that is LOUD! How do you drive up the hill of HWY 26 without going deaf? It sounds kick ass but when I had the exhaust I mentioned in the previous post I couldn't make it up the hill without wanting to punch myself or put earplugs in. Switching to the Invidia Q300 fixed my loud issue and now it's only loud when I floor it as seen in my build thread track day videos.

Pretty sure I have the exact same exhaust pieces as you :) good taste.

Where is the dyno sheet? Peak numbers are meaningless

What header and fp?

LOL, I'm couple of steps behind; waiting for edelbrock's S/C before making the F/I decision. 13whp difference, I wonder if the perrin CAI had a hand in it too. I would love to hear your exhaust as I'm having second thoughts about my summer road trip. I may wanna switch it to a quite(er) option just for this trip.

Hahaha, I hear ya.. but I am afraid that I'm gonna lose the badass tone out of it when I switch to a different exhaust. I can only turn it down a little bit for highway drivings, it would be perfect. So far nothin has quite impressed me such as this setup! LOL

They're up now.. I've got Borla UEL and Nameless catted and resonated over and front pipe.

Chen 05-03-2015 09:55 PM

Listen to @thehapaone 's. So far, his set up is my favorite.

sachu 05-03-2015 10:33 PM

good gains!:w00t:

If you're at one of the meets that I'm at I'll let you drive my car with me in it if you'd like as long as you let me drive yours in return. :)

Yea sure.. I now remember seeing you a while ago at the Fred Myer's/Pop eye's intersection. I was revving it for you. Any meets coming up soon?

Thursday night we'll be at Sykart. I don't think there's anything else this month yet.

I climb that HW 26 hill after the tunnel on my Perrin 3inch catback and it is super uncomfortable (not to mention the pressure change). Props to you for handling that exhaust and no going deaf! :eyebulge:

Jmonty 05-04-2015 09:28 PM

Header did a nice job getting rid of the TQ dip, and the nice tune as well

Zaneman 05-05-2015 12:41 AM

Here is my car. Catted JDL EL header with a catted mid pipe as well.

This is a 3rd gear run comparing my off the shelf Perrin tune to one done by Bob. http://i62.tinypic.com/30w1f1t.jpg

Here is my 4th gear run too.

For shits and giggles here is my old 2zz vs the Fa20

RobertPaulson 05-05-2015 01:25 PM

very nice, here's mine stock tune with drop in filter, catless fp and perrin cbe vs tuned with tomei uel, perrin op and the rest of the mods from the stock run. I'm most impressed with the gain of torque in the dip, you really feel that in daily driving and was well worth the money.

Hmmm. I see quite a few consistent results and numbers. :)

I always forget how slow our cars really are. Jesus... They dyno so low compared to most

D_Thissen 05-06-2015 09:59 AM

Awesome gains, especially the mid range torque! How does it feel to drive?

It may be overly loud, but I'm used to loud cars and I love how honest do they sound 😁

Yupp.. Although it did take a good step, I am not quite satisfied with the engine performance. Supercharging seems to be the way to go.

In terms of daily driving, it is much nicer to drive without that tourqe dip. Better performance oversll but insignificant for sure.

My god, I can only imagine how loud that would be on cold starts.
I just put a single exit muffler delete with stock header and it's pretty loud. It's pretty annoying going down/up 26 to Portland in gear.

Well yea it is extremely loud on a cold start, but I most of the times park it uphil so I can roll it down before I start the engine. Problem solved! I understand people's frustration about the 26 hill, but I think I can live with it. :D
