Weird interior. Just wondering if you guys have seen this or is this just this one .
 

This is on a 2014 FR-S

The driver side speaker panel have no red stitching (no knee pad?)
The passenger side does have the knee pad on the speaker panel.

I've seen pictures of other 2014 and 2015 FR-S that have red stitching on both door's speaker panel. I know 2013 model doesn't have knee pads


I'm wondering why this have mismatched panels.
Anyone have this issue or anyone have any insights?

Someone stole one of your panels...I'd check the door VIN to see if it matches with the rest of ur car.

Could have just been a bad pick at the assembly plant. Wouldn't be the first time. I've seen a car have a chrome moulding on one side and a body color on the other, from the factory.

My understanding is that the 2014 did not have padding on the speaker panels, that came in 2015. Someone added it aftermarket.

My 2014 has padding and the red stitching. I've done nothing to the interior. Also, I have the same marks from my shoes on the speaker cover as well....lol

What's the manufacturing date on the car?

Maybe it was the center console "knee pads" they added?

no, my 14 also had red stitched knee pads

red stitching came from the factory for the 14's and 15's

Pads were the big addition to all 14 FRSs.

Or maybe the OP got a car that had an owner install aftermarket knee pads, which is definitely plausible.

14s came with them (like has been said) and there are no clip holes in the panel in the pic. The only explanation is a 13 door panel on a 14 for some bizarre reason.

You probably got one of the last batches sent out before they added the stitches in. Just like how my 13 fr-s has the newer head unit.
