Huntington Beach police released video Tuesday of a hit-and-run driver that struck an elderly woman in a restaurant parking lot and then drove away.



Huntington Beach police released this video of an elderly woman being struck in a McDonald’s parking lot.
The incident took place outside a McDonald’s restaurant near the intersection of Beach Boulevard and Robidoux Drive (map) just before 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Huntington Beach Police Department stated on Facebook.

The video showed a gray Dodge Challenger backing into a woman as she was walking across the parking lot.

The 85-year-old victim was knocked to the ground and suffered head injuries, according to the Police Department’s Facebook post.

The driver and a passenger could be seen exiting the car and approaching the victim in the video.

Moments later, the driver appeared to motion to the passenger and both people got back in the car — leaving the woman lying on the ground — and fled northbound on Beach Boulevard.

The victim was taken to an area hospital and was later released, the Police Department commented on the Facebook post.

The car sought in the hit-and-run was described as a newer Dodge Challenger with no front license plate, a chrome gas cap and chrome rims.

The driver of the Challenger was believed to be a white or Asian man in his mid 20s. He was about 6 feet tall with a medium build and short black hair, the Police Department stated.

The passenger was described as a white or Asian woman in her early 20s. She had long dark hair and was about 5 feet 5 inches tall with a medium build.

Police are looking for additional witnesses and have asked that anyone with information call the Police Department’s information hotline at 714-375-5066.

Side note...how are the suspects either white or asian? I am assuming the police interviewed the witnesses? Whites and Asians don't exactly look alike? Or is it a case of witnesses having a different case of events?

The police should check the challenger forums. I'm sure people know him there??

But not everyone's on a forum and he looks stock.

Many friends of mine that are of mixed Asian/Caucasian heritage looks a bit of both if you have a brief glance.

Things happen quickly, the last thing you expect is for someone to run in this situation, so a lot of details are left out because it is hard to remember.
