What's the coolest car tech you've seen?

What innovation from a manufacturer made you just say "wow, that's ingenious!" Or it's just super innovative, never been done before or this application is perfect for it.

To me, the new Ford GT takes all my wows...

-The exhaust in the middle looks like jet fighter after burners and can basically be called that.
-The taillights and the hole in the middle is actually an outlet for hot air from the intercoolers and wastegates.
-The rear spoiler is functional, going up and down for more downforce and assist with braking.
-The wings going from the wheel fenders to the roof are actually the air intakes for the engine and also function to divert more air to the rear spoiler.

What have you seen that made you go "wow"?

Electronically controlled fuel injection (the original meaning of FI) on regular production cars (not joking I am old).
Anybody that spent two hours trying to adjust a cranky 4 barrel carburetor knows exactly what I mean by finding it a major innovation.

Has anyone found a picture of the FGT engine bay with the rear hatch opened?

Drove by a Pagani Huayra a week ago in Marin. Looked like an alien craft.

The Mclaren F1. For what it was when it came out, and that it's been timeless. Gordon Murray and Peter Stevens created a masterpiece.

Basically everything done by Jim hall and chapparall cars. Everything was adopted by everyone or immediately instabanned.

[ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chaparral_Cars"]Chaparral Cars - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia[/ame]

Pioneered the rear wing and almost got it universally banned

Pionered adjustable aero, instabanned and still banned

And the infamous vacuum cleaner car, the 2j, instabanned and still universally banned. No one has tried it in like 40 years every race group and time trial group still has a line rule banning it.

Its unfortunate there's no more anything-goes race groups like can am or group c anymore to see really wild cars

I spent a couple weeks looking for foglights similar to them. I figured with led technology I'm sure someone would make a halo foglight where there is a hole in the centers (for brake ducts. :D) Apparently nothing yet which kind of shocked me. A few weeks later I saw this and my jaw dropped.

Top mounted oil filter.

ITBs... I think it's badass when several flaps open and close simultaneously.

This was the most round-about way to say "dat ass." :)

Anyway, much of what Koenigsegg has been doing always amazes me.

Variable chamber turbo, which just happens to be 3d printed:

The Hellcat supercharger intake in in the middle of the front left light.

Beat me to it... Came here to drop some love for the Chaparral 2J. If they could figure out how to keep all the road debris from shotgunning everything behind it, it would be the go-to track toy.

We could add Smokey Yunick and Bob Riley to that list too.

Yeah the vacuum car was something incredibly unusual and other teams hated to compete so they complained and got it banned.
