RexRacer19's Street/Track FR-S
After waiting over a year and a half to buy one, I finally picked up a 2015 FR-S in February, and have been loving it ever since. My plans for the car are to make it fun for the street, and enjoy track days with it several times a year.
Obligatory stock shot: http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/x...pspsctdrob.jpg Since I plan to track it, and the paint has a reputation for being tender on these things, I got a clear bra installed along with partial fenders, full hood, and mirrors. After that I came across a good deal on a used Nameless axle back, and that went in right away. It is a quality piece, and I love the sound. Perfect tone IMHO. http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps5x4mwvhl.jpg http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/x...psk5cgd4gy.jpg About the same time, I ordered a set of the HKS Hipermax IV SP coilovers for the car from Strano Parts. It took about a month for them to have stock available in the US, but they were worth the wait. I think they are hard to beat for the money, and the ride quality is pretty close to stock despite having 8K/8K rates. http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/x...pslerhzrod.jpg http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/x...psnpuzqhab.jpg http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/x...pswsuv2sxr.jpg Here is how it sits currently, lowered about 1.25" all around. I want to go a little lower, but need to get some camber adjustment in the rear first. http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/x...psvagdikvm.jpg |
I agree, I'm running the HKS SP coilovers too. They perform awesome at the track.

Yeah, I am looking forward to getting on track with them.

Got the new wheels and tires mounted & balanced this week. Vordoven Forme 9 in 17x9 +35 with Continental Extreme Contact DWs in 245/40-17. I love the look, but still need to lower it just a bit more.

It's been a while since I updated this thread. I haven't done any additional mods to the car, but have been enjoying it. I picked up a set of Ambit RE02s in 17x9 along with some BFG Rivals that were on closeout at tire rack to use for AutoX and track days.
http://i746.photobucket.com/albums/x...ps761gigqb.jpg A few weeks ago I was able to autocross the car for the first time at a local event. It is the first time that I have done AutoX in about 8 years, but I had a blast and ended up being fastest in class both days and winning in the combined weekend results. The car drove great and was pretty balanced overall, but tended to understeer slightly at the limit. Here are some vids from my runs. CCR-SCCA was racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway and had a PDX there on Friday night. I recently purchased some Carbotech XP10 pads for the front and rear, and flushed the factory brake fluid out in favor of some Brembo LCF 600. The car was fantastic on track and performed flawlessly for 5 sessions. It's been nearly 5 years since I have been on a road course, and it was pretty awesome to finally get back to doing that. Here are some highlights from a couple of sessions. Sorry for the shaky camera mount and wind noise. I will have to get that worked out for next time.
