Five Axis FR-S from Regional Launch Event at Pocono Raceway - Pics and Video
I had my region/district launch event for the FR-S. It was held at Pocono Raceway and they used the course (or whatever it is) in the infield for our test track. They had a bunch of FR-S's there along with some tC's, Civic Si's and '13 Genesis Coupe 2.0T's.
The GC was by far the most powerful but also handled like a tank compared to the FR-S, which being a larger and heavier car was to be expected. The under steer was awful. I don't know if it was the 8spd AT's or what but there seemed to be a lot of turbo lag. I drove a manual trans here at work and it didn't seem that bad except for the notchy Accent-like shifting. Both the Civic Si & the tC had so much body roll compared to the FR-S and I didn't feel as confident behind the wheel. They had a tC there with the 19" TRD wheels and TRD suspension parts (springs, bars, etc) and that was probably the second best handling car there. It still had body roll but nothing compared to a stock one. Here are the pics & video of the Five Axis car. The pics are also at the end of the video, but are smaller in size. It was hands down, the best launch event that I have been to in my 10 years with Toyota/Scion. Not because I learned a lot, but because of where we got to drive and how much they let us drive and push the limits. Plus I got some swag like a FR-S shirt, pen, and the USB flash drive with the Pistons/86 logo. http://i1132.photobucket.com/albums/...y/IMG_0385.jpg I loves me some free stuff!:party0030: Ruskymx |
Was this open to the public? I live not even 5mi away. Awesome pics
|
i hate when tires are stretched, especially on a car that has ample clearance.

Ruskymx P.S. I wish I lived 5 minutes away. Up at 5:30am to go there and then got back to the dealership and worked until 9:15pm and just got home and settled. |
This has made my desicion, TRD kit it is!
|
Nice!
I believe my local (Doylestown, PA) Scion reps mentioned they were going there ;) |
I just threw up a little.
|
that car really pops with wheels :D
|
Digging the graphics...Five Axis kit is so damn clean..
|
Cool, thanks for sharing!
|
i still think those 19s are ridiculous on this car, five axis needs to make some 17s or at least 18s.

That's awesome! My salesman was there too! He also said he had a blast.
|
My salesman was also at this event. Said he had a blast and described the cars similarly.
He gave me the T-Shirt he got since I took my delivery after he got back the same day. Sent a couple pics of this 86 to my cell phone. He said they were impressed when he told them what the recall was for. |
My first impression.
Nope on the wheels. My second impression. Nope on the tires. My third impression. Nope on the red stuff. Sorry to be so honest. |
