5 year unused Michelin ZR18 235/40 on AT Italia Riva 18X8?

Hi guys,

Let me start by saying I'm a newbie. I've always kept my cars stock but I'm getting these tires and wheels which have been in a garage unused for five years for a cheap price. They were originally used on a BMW Z4.

What do you guys think?
Would this be a good fit for the FR-S?
Will my speedo work accurately after an upgrade?
What will the resultant loss in FE be?
Should I be wary of any other consequences?

Bottom line, buy wheels that fit our car. The bolt pattern on these wont work with out car. Tires are on older side.

Way easier/cheaper/safer in long run to buy wheels that fit properly.

What do you guys think?
skip these
Would this be a good fit for the FR-S?
no
Will my speedo work accurately after an upgrade?
off by about 4-8%...bad for our gearing
What will the resultant loss in FE be?
?
Should I be wary of any other consequences?
tires are on the older side...would need adapters to change bolt pattern for these to fit.

Too much hassle

Unless the tires were kept in a temperature AND humidity controlled garage for 5 years, I'd skip it.

Thank you for your response and I'm sorry. I meant Fuel efficiency. Will it take a drastic hit since my FR-s is my daily driver.

ah. and 235/40/18 wont be too bad for gearing, I was thinking 245/40/18. Still, its raising the size of the tire, and that isnt good for acceleration etc.

Fuel wise wont be too bad, I think I dropped 1.5-3mpg depending on driving condition when I switched from stock tires to 245/40/18 tires.

I would still hit 30mpg or more on highway with 245/40/18, my car is manual btw.

And for the record haha, I'm currently on 245/40/17...but 18's did look good on the car

Tires age even when unused, so you'd need tires for the rims. I'd stay away unless they were REALLY cheap and was a look I really wanted...
