What's the longest you've driven your BRZ?

We just returned from a 1800 mile trip.

One leg was 16 hrs (Watertown, NY à Myrtle beach, SC) non-stop. I did all the driving (do not like to share!), and must say was very impressed. My usual commute is 5 miles so it was nice to spend some real time with the BRZ.

Driving fatigue…none. The seating/ dash set up allows for hrs of easy driving.

Best MPG..42.1….Worst..38.6

Handling……after 19K miles and many pot holes where we live, still tracks straight as an arrow with crisp handling.

Driving next to trucks…..love how the wheels are level with my face! (wife hates it)

View around…no issues, especially with side mirrors moved out to the sides

Comfort…no issues, especially on the smooth roads down south

Wind noise…...no issue. Could talk at normal voice levels.

Uniqueness……only saw two other twins (upstate NY), and still got complements like “nice car”

Engine…..was concerned with the postings about failures and knock. Was expecting a rod to come flying into the cabin! Fortunately engine performance was fantastic. Going up mountain grades, passing, quick accelerations were all no problem.

So I take back everything negative I have ever posted about the twins…at least for now.

Anyone concerned about taking the BRZ/FRS/86 on long trips this summer should not be!

I've driven cross country twice so far, not in my BRZ but in my first car, a Chevy Aveo. I drove from Arizona to Maryland, going through the Southern states to there, and the Mid West states on the way back.

I had a steak in Texas, saw a minor league baseball game in OKC, had BBQ in Memphis, drove around DC around the Pentagon and White House before going to the Baltimore area for school.

On the way back, went through Penn, Ohio, Indiana where I passed through Indanapolis the day before the 100th anniversary of the Indy 500 and I got tickets to sit at the finish line! Then though St. Louis and saw a Cardinals baseball game, then Missouri where I had Kansas City BBQ, then took a detour south to Joplin cause just a couple weeks earlier the tornado hit.

That was a trip!

The furthest I went in my BRZ was to Denver Colorado for work, I made that trip about 6 times.

sounds like fun...gotta love the open road. Beats sitting in the office.

2500 miles, Dover, DE to Las Vegas, NV. Followed a month later by 1000 miles, Las Vegas to Wichita Falls, TX. Another month, and 1000 mile trip back. More than a few 400 mile trips between Las Vegas and Salt Lake City.

Road tripping in this car is fun. Very comfortable, although there really isn't a lot of room to move around. Have to get out and stretch every so often.

I think the longest was when I went to Buttonwillow track and came back to LA in a single day.

130miles one way from my house to the track

Buttonwillow is like 3miles per lap I think. 10 laps per session. I did 4 sessions. So total about 120miles?

260 miles on the freeway and 120 miles on the track.

The car itself is pretty damn comfortable considering how well it does at the track even in pretty much stock set up.

I just love the feeling when I'm driving back home on the freeway after a crazy fun track day. Windows are down, cruise control is set at 73mph, music is on, and the heated seat is on.

Ah just love it. This car is meant to be driven. It's a pretty comfy DD+Track car!

I'm usually mentally exhausted due to the track sessions. That's about it.

The dash computer is not accurate at all.

I wish I had a long drive. The longest i've ever driven my car was to Philly and it was pretty amazing.

1400km in a 4 day weekend, out to the family holiday home and back. I want to do it again but the potential lack of quality fuel between here and there is making me worry. Might just take the Miata.

My longest trip was a little over 1700 miles. It was actually quite the comfortable car. I felt very engaged the whole time. Took another smaller trip down to Knoxville, TN which I believe was about 400 ish miles away, to go you know where and have even more fun. I have low back issues but the car never aggravates my back.

Those are from the dash. But I check it myself too (dividing miles driven by gallons at fill up) .I find the dash is ~1 MPG higher than my own calculation

yes..I've been driving for 30 years & these seats are great. Sometimes my butt will hurt after sitting for hrs at a time, but never my back. The seats could use a little more padding in the bottom.
