Getting the most out of my warranty, while I still have it
Hi all,
My warranty expires in June; I was wondering if there are any specific requests I should make at the dealership during a final checkup, that they would be able to help out with during the 3-year warranty but not the 7-year extended warranty? Off the top of my head I've noticed the following issues: - Stickshift doesn't feel quite as smooth as it used to (uhoh) - Speakers are mildly blown - GPS system has trouble picking up satellites I don't really expect them to be able to do anything about any of these, but I was wondering if there were any other things that I should ask them to look into? Thanks! |
Keep in mind that most dealership won't fix it if it ain't really broke and they have to actually be able to replicate any issue you bring forward. It is a warranty not a PM program after all not. The shifter and speakers may be covered but from what I understand the nav just plain sucks and isn't really "broken".

CHECK DA TURBO!!! No, I'd just make sure your transmission and engine are solid. However, from what you said they seem to be ok. I'd also take care of any of the common problems (water in tails, noisy rear deck, ect..) if you have them.

Yeah, my speakers were blown like a week after I got the car. They didn't fix them, told me they were supposed to sound like that...Pretty sure speakers aren't supposed to sound like a jar of marbles being tossed around

I thought the same about my speakers, they sounded almost blown. Turns out if was the window switches rattling in the door to my music. Popped the door panels off, strategically placed some foam and all is well now with it.
