Headlight auto-levelizer delete problem
4 Attachment(s)
Installed new suspension today (Ohlins R&T, Whiteline swaybars and endlinks, SPL LCA, toe and trailing arms) and have an unexpected little but annoying problem. Since SPL LCA don't have a hole for the auto-levelizing mechanism (and are of very different shape so the auto-levelizing mechanism doen't fit anyway - see pics), I decided to delete this usless thing all together but that caused an ECU error, so now I have this annouying light on my dash. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? Is there a separate fuze or this error could be overriden by a tune - just as a cat inefficiency error?
Also, anyone who wants to install Ohlins R&T with Whiteline front stabilizers and endlinks - it's practically impossible to put the stabilizers in the softest setting and avoid the endlink touching the coilover when turning the wheel fully inwards. With the hard setting and couple of additional washers - 1 mm is the maximum we managed to achieve (see pic). |
Since US car don't have this stupid mechanism, I guess nobody cares on this forum, but in case someone else bumps into this issue: this error light on the dash pops up without any ECU CEL code - just checked with EcuTEK. Neither it has a separate fuse as far as I understood after looking thoroughly through the fuse boxes manual.
So, apparently I'll have to live with this annoying light on the dash before I find a solution (and it's not switching back to the stock LCAs :)). |
Have you considered leaving the sensor there but removing the link that attaches to the LCA?
Id personally turn the sensor manually with the arm removed and then use some hot glue to set them in place at a position you like. Just dont use too much torque on that sensor removing the arm or you could possible break the electronics. Are there just one or two sensors? If there are two, you would have to match both sides perfectly or it would probably throw a code. |
