Photoshop Request
Hey guys,
I'm not a Photoship wiz in the slightest, and I was hoping somebody would be able to help me out. As you'll see in the pictures, I have a carbon fiber hood. I love the hood, but I don't like the contrast of the carbon fiber to the silicon black of the car. There is a trapezoidal piece in the middle of the hood above the scoop that I was thinking about wrapping in a black vinyl. Could somebody please show me what this would look like? I'll post three pictures. Feel free to choice whichever you think would be easiest. Or do all three if you feel like :) Thanks in advance! PS: I hope my image uploading works. http://i60.tinypic.com/2nqumuf.jpg http://i58.tinypic.com/2krj9x.jpg http://i61.tinypic.com/3501nwy.jpg |
It worked!... Kinda :D
Sorry it's rotated; I honestly have no idea how that happened. |
Either way you look at it, its just going to end up looking like mismatched paint from a distance.

Hmm, so you don't think it'll help? I had to get a new hood in the beginning because my car suffered hail damage. I decided to go with a hood with a scoop (I had one on my old WRX), but all they had was the carbon fiber. I figured I'd try it out and see if I liked it. I don't :( So I could either A) Get the whole thing wrapped black, B) Paint it black, or C) Get creative.

Paint it partially? If you do have them first tint the center carbon so it is darker before painting the rest black. That way there isn't so much of a contrast. As far as the process, it is the same one bodyshops would used to candy paint or tint tail-lights.
example is a corvett spoiler, bottom is regular, top is tinted clearcoat with a bit of black. |
