@RFB do you still get any minor seepage of oil? I have a tiny bit coming through right between the sandwich plate and the lower spacer
@Mishimoto

I did, a lot !

Deep socket 40 sumthin, re-tightened, all is well, and still good after a full day at Mosport big track, and Shannonville full track.

@RFB yeah mine did well at track but I think heat cycle must have loosened things. After drive back from Shannonville, checked plate day after noticed a tiny bit seeping through. Retorqued to 30 (digital reader said it was at 20 ft lbs after tracking, when it was installed at 30).

Do you mean you torqued it to 40?

Thanks!

Got mine installed yesterday and yup I have the seepage as well. Going back for a retorque early next week (iGarage)

Meant socket size , but it felt like we ended up torqueing to 140 ! :confused0068:

Well just got back from the shop after they checked everything over and reinstalled the sandwich plate etc, and it still leaks..

Maybe time to take it up with Mishi..

Pending their response I may pull the filter myself and check the torque.. First visit to CTMP GP track July 4,5 I don't wish to run this thing as is... it either stops leaking or its pulled before then.

I let the car sit since yesterday and just pulled the filter and re-torqued the big nut, I was surprised how much it took, over 1/4 turn. Maybe installing these things while the car has any significant amount of heat in it is a waste of time..

Hoping I am closer.. if it still leaks after this, I'll try taking it to 35-40

Sent an email and a pm to Mishimoto, but no response yet.

@Skurj don't go anymore than 35. Notice that there's a gap between the oil catch and the sandwich plate? Over torque and the oil catch will collapse since its just aluminum. That's what happened to me first time. Check that oil isn't coming from banjos - that was my most recent issue, just got replacement ones.

I should clarify that I only went to 30 ft lbs when I installed and it collapsed - must have had a lemon.

Edit: whoops I quoted myself. No point on changing :)

Does anyone know what torque settings Subaru uses when they install the OEM plate on their turbo motors? From what I have found it looks like it should be 39-40 lbs.
