Tempted to get the @Mishimoto kit. Not that I need it, but the bling factor is off the charts.

Absolutely ! A big rad also.

This time a new ENEOUS flush and refill instead of drain and top up. Tried both auto and paddles, both excellent all day, no bad effects like my last Mosport big track, but smooth, fast gear changes, and rev matching.

I am confident I can do the yearly drain and top up from now on.The savings in fluids will pay for both kits.

Both kits stupid simple to install (just grunt work).

I spent about $590 CDN for a 19 Row Series 6 Setrab Core and T-Stat Mocal Sandwich Plate shipped to Niagara Falls, NY. As an alternative a 15 Row Series 9 Setrab core was available as well.

I don't have any experience with CX Racing and I have no idea whether this is a great kit or not, but the 2 questions to consider is who makes the 19 Row core and what Sandwich Plate (T-Stat or not) is being offered.

That sounds like a good deal. The intercooler they installed today is a fair bit bigger than the standard one that comes with my HKS system. I need to figure out what size and where I will locate the oil radiator when I get my car. I don't mind setting up a temp mailbox in Niagara Falls. Just have to unbox everything and put it in the spare tire storage to avoid 13%. Where did you buy your cooler from?

Bought through Maximal Performance - http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showp...17&postcount=5

I use these guys for my deliveries. http://kuhnsstorage.com/
They aren't the most flexible in hours or operations, but they are affordable and I've never had a bad experience with them. Best part is I can usually get over the boarder and back in 15-20 mins

Is this to be expected regardless of the manufacturer? I don't want to have to be pulling the bumper cover after every lapping day if I can help it...

Just add some Teflon tape and put your mind at ease. The AN fittings are very good, they may need reltght ending once after the first heat cycle but that should be it.

ALL need checking after install, and re-tighten. Then look at the fittings under the oil filter, DO NOT remove the bumper, just lift the hood, you are looking for seepage UNDER THE OIL FILTER, AND FITTINGS.
My central bolt and the sandwich plate fittings had to be re-torqued after about 50 miles.

To check for rad seepage, look through the grill and you can clearly see the oil rad and fittings. The rad fittings were tightened with a torque bar, we did not retighten, and it did not seep.

I ran a hot day, all day Formula I track, checked at every pit stop and all fittings were fine.

Teflon tape is controversial, we used NO sealant of any kind and all is good.

Going to be running the GP track at Mosport July 4 and 5.. don't have a cooler yet and its unlikely I will have one before then, but its on my must have list... Like to have someone install it and stand behind it...

wparsons 05-31-2015 01:14 AM

I'd call iGarage or CanJam, both should stand behind the install.

CX Racing's cooling options, at least the fabled NASIOC Ebay radiator (to which CX Racing is a main importer of) are one of the few "budget" critical systems components I would consider. Note I do NOT have first or third-hand knowledge about their oil coolers, so this is an incomplete testimony.

Here's a very detailed thread about their radiators. One big thing to note is the required mod most will say: Teflon tape the damn drain plug

Have had the same radiator in my WRX, boosted to 18psi on a TD04 running E85 and 93oct, for years. NO leaks. All aluminum tank. Was $150 new on the bay ;)
