Aliant Batteries review

I'm not good at reviews, so bare with me.
Decided on getting a Shorai after reading this thread:
http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=32544
It was delivered dead, multi-tester read 8.2 volts. After trying to recharge it with a Battery tender with no success, back at Amazon it went.
The quality of the battery did not convince me to get another one so I started doing some research and decided to ask about the Aliant.
Called Essex and talked to Mathew and went over the advantages detailed here: http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=2096495
After a long talk I was convinced that this was a great option, put my order in for the Battery and the charger.
When the box got home I honestly thought somebody might have forgotten to put the battery there, it was light, way lighter than the Shorai or any other light battery I have owned.

Onto the pics:

Here is the excellent packaging:

I used an old Braille Bracket I already had and worked great:

So far the battery has work flawlessly. It starts stock like, nothing mayor like when I installed a yellow top in my Cherokee. I've been using it for about a month now in different conditions, 36 to 70 degrees and it starts right up. The longest I have let the car sit has been 4 days in cold weather and it still gave me no problems.
Mathew did say that if the battery is fully drained, is toast, but I prefer him being up front about it and not hide it to make a sale. Also, is an IDM product, what did you expect?
For 100 bucks more than a Shorai, I'm happy with my purchase as I feel the price difference is worth the quality and higher technology.

Thanks Mathew ( @JRitt ) for the great customer service/support and fast shipping.

Thanks for the nice review. You gotta love being able to power your car with a tiny 3 lb. block that fits in the palm of your hand!:w00t:

Time for an update.
With four track days and daily driving, battery is still going strong. Cranks just like the first day.
After a track weekend a month ago, left the car in the trailer for a week and forgot to uninstall the positive side and left an obd2 reader plugged. Thankfully the car started right away. I honestly don't know if is real or wishful thinking, but I do feel quicker steering response.
I've been giving people a few laps at the track as passengers, by myself, I can get closer to 120 mph at the end of the straight. With passengers I loose 10 to 15 mph depending on their weight. A lightweight battery does make a difference and I'm glad I went with the Aliant as it has being reliable and the lightest I've tried/seen.
