P1604 Startability Malfunction
Had my heads polished and fixed after i blew a valve last summer. And now when all is put together and i try to start the engine cranks but wont start. I get the code P1604 Startability Malfunction and i've felt that the headers are warm only the ones coming from cylinder 2-3. 1 and 4 are cold..
I've checked so the sparkplugs "spark" and they are not dry. Anyone have any ideas? Sorry for bad english. |
I found info on this on another forum relating to Toyotas, and it appears to be a generic code. Technically the code doesn't even turn the CEL on, it's probably set by extended cranking and no start. Unfortunately it doesn't directly correlate to an issue with a component. It's meant as a freeze frame data point to check other pieces of information.
I would triple check all connections and make sure everything looks right. It's odd that cylinders 1-4 and 2-3 seem different, seeing as how they're not even on the same head. Quote:

The car is running on E85 and the DW700cc injectors i had has been removed and cleaned, but not the other 4. Could this be an issue that makes the car not wanna start? |

Sounds like your boosted ?, assume you injector scaling has been adjusted in tune to suit uprated injectors ? hopefully the e85 in the tank was sealed and not open to atmosphere to absorb water while car was repaired. check maf sensor is clean and no insects built nest or something on sensor Check maf sensor is clean |
