@ rice_classic sorry I didn't get a chance to introduce myself. How did your races go? What did you think about CCW? I'm probably one of the few that has more experience CCW than CW. I really enjoy the track regardless of direction.

Well, I hope to meet you at another event. I'm racing down at PIR in two weeks (June 6th and 7th) and it looks like Cascade might also be doing a lapping day/driver's school that Friday (the 5th) so if you're there for track time we can chat because I'll be rolling in Friday afternoon to setup.

Thoughts on ORP CCW:
1: Too many off-camber-downhill turns for my taste (3 per lap). When running CW, those are off-camber- uphill turns and I get greater enjoyment when working against gravity as opposed to being captive by it. This, however, is entirely subjective to each driver. Opinions in the paddock are very split on this btw.
2: I don't think it "races" as well in CCW. I think initiating a pass, either a better exit or late brake is done more readily and there are more opportunities in the CW direction. I also think CW is safer to race but that's strictly opinion, no data to support it.
From a driving-for-fun perspective, I love it in both directions but strictly looking at it from a racing perspective I don't like CCW as much and if the TC race weekend is CCW next year I may choose to skip it unless I really need the points for a championship run. For me ORP is an expensive weekend. Probably spent $1300 this weekend, not counting the wear and tear on the car/tires/brakes etc.
However, this guy spent a few $$$ than I did when is brakes failed at 100mph. (BTW: that Orange CRX in the video is me)
