turbo dreams
Thanks for previous feedback on BRZ issues. Does anyone have information on getting an aftermarket turbo to pass smog in California? Even if the car passes smog when the ECU is hooked up to the computer, the mechanic does not have to pass it if he sees non-OEM equipment on the car, namely a turbo. I am planning to put a turbo on my 2014 BRZ. I have driven one and it makes all the difference!! My car will not have a smog check for another 5 years. I would like to benefit from someone else's experience before I take the plunge. Thank you.:burnrubber:

The only way to get a turbo to pass emissions is to place the turbo further down the exhaust past the factory cats, without replacing them...which has been done...but at that point you'd get better power and response from a supercharger.
If you care about passing smog, just get a supercharger. The Sprintex 335 kit makes some seriously huge power. |
