No complaints from me. Always able to open trunk.

A year later and still at least a hundred yards line-of-sight.

Do you have problems way out in the burbs, or is this in the middle of the city. An electronically noisy environment will have a drastic effect on range.

I can lock/unlock my car at least 100 meters away. I can see my car blink.

Actually this is one of the coolest keys I've had and it works just fine for me. Like suggested maybe you should check your battery.

Try using your head as an antenna:

or check the battery...

I'm still using the original battery in my remote for my acura w/ 180K miles and 12 years on it :iono:

I actually do this with my wife's car to remote-start her Camaro from even further away, lol...

As for my Scion key, zero complaints on range from me. Works flawlessly with good range in my experience.

I haven't had the FR-S for over a week, so my experience is limited. But I can say right off the bat that my (5yr old) Camaro key is much more responsive from a distance. With the Scion key, I've actually hit the door lock multiple times because it didn't seem to activate right away. It may just have a slight delay that I'm not used to.

What's a "key"?

I asked that same question for 10 years and then had to relearn a whole new car start sequence. You have no idea how many times I still jump in the car and go to push the start button. I then berate myself for having to have a Lava that did not come with push button start and keyless entry.

KalbiCool88 04-08-2015 12:26 PM

My only complaint is that it is one ugly ass keyfob in comparison to the 2015 BRZ keyfob. Cmon Toyota/Scion you could've at least put some effort into it. Lol.

V_86 04-08-2015 12:33 PM

On the two FRS I've had, they each had slightly different range. But overall pretty good.
