Should I change the color scheme of my car?

After a comment that my car looked like a Russian rice project car, I'm considering making it a little more dull black on red, instead of the gold on red, or combo. Let me know your opinions. I won't be changing my gold wheels or side accent piece, nor interior. See bottom of my first post in my build thread for videos of my car at the track to see it in motion to help decide.

Plastidip rear diffuser black
Plastidip side skirts black
Plastidip front grill black
Remove front grill back to stock
Keep everything gold how it is.

Here's a couple pics:

one thing about dipping your diffuser/side skirts is that after about a year, even with glossifier applied, the black fades to grey. I'm tempted to send mine to get powdercoated at some point to spruce it back up to a nice brilliant black.

oh and while I'm not a big fan of the red and gold, it seems to work on your car and red/black is pretty common.

Go back to black...no one likes gold anyway...change your wheels to black while your at it ;)

all about what you want man, but when i saw your car, didn't care for the red/gold look you were going for.

Red and black look or red and black for the most part with maybe two bits in yellow accents.

Red, black and white accents is also a nice combo to go with.

I only like gold on the wheels, any maybe yellow fogs and a shift knob. Maybe the fender garnishes if you are brave. Everything else black. The contrast makes the look red deeper.

Added a couple pictures just in case you've never seen my car in person. I appreciate you opinions guys.

My gf made fun of the grill when we rolled past u on the freeway last summer. I think the gold aero works honestly but the grill should go black it just seems off to me.

I agree, ditch the gold man. It's a little 90's.. and would go well with jaguar racing green :)

So is your car FS on craiglist?

Do what makes you happy. Screw the rest of 'em if they don't like it!

My ex wife said something about "once you black " I cant remember the rest but her new boy friend seemed to know what she meant.
So Russian Ricer or Redneck Racer.
who knows I went with the black pack I leave the gold to the WRX crowd

If it were mine, I'd remove the grill, and the black vinyl on the back.

Biggest thing I'd change though is that lisence plate as it's a big color clash, cultural trust would look way better in my opinion. Then again I'm a pretty poor esthetician.

The red is such a great looking color that I'd probably revert my focus back to that. Black wheels with your red lugs would look sharp. Aero back to original color, etc, would make that red pop, I think. Just looked at some pictures of red Cayman GTS' s...hyper black rims with red calipers provide a strong, aggressive look to my eye. Like some purpose built car.

Either way, envy your aero.

I checked the first four boxes. That would bring it closer to my favorite World Challenge car theme.
