Loads of room just pull up a seat.
Pretty much the same as the two or three hundred before it though. Only difference is a few new faces that haven't hashed the topic to death already.

stage 2...stage 3... what does that even mean. I never understood why people referenced their upgrades in stages...

Simple marketing for people who don't want to worry about the technical stuff. Which is probably best for some people.

Its like Dragon Ball Z, when Goku in super sayian state and push beyond his power to be a super sayian 3. I like to think that way

Another mk6 GTI owner here. Own them both at the moment. The GTI is practical, refined and torquey, but only the FR-S puts a smile on my face every time I drive it.

Also, some specific platform communities kind of adopt certain terminology as standard, I saw this a lot in the STi community as well. Stage 1 was basically just a tune. Stage 2 was a tune with turboback exhaust. Stage 3 was bigger turbo and other bolt ons.

It comes from people like Cosworth. A lot of aftermarket companies do this... it's just a simple way to categorize tiers of performance.

I don't know ANY enthusiasts in real life who talk about their mods in "stages"...

Thorpedo 04-09-2015 01:10 PM

It takes a special kind of person (Vw crowd) to describe their car by it's "stage". Do you realize that it conveys almost no information whatsoever?

Much like the State of the Union Address.

I came from owning two mk6 gti's one was stage 2 and one was stage 3. Both fast as hell but it was lacking something. Now i own my frs and although its not as fast it has more character that i feel only some people apprectiate and dont understand

I came from a modded MKV GTi. I LOVED that car, but it's not even in the same league when it comes to dynamics, feel and fun factor.

My car has been in the shop for the past two days getting a new fuel pump and and the idle dip fixed and i was using my uncles 2010 gt500. Although it has headers straight pipes 2.8 kenne bell supercharger and makes 698rwhp, it feels heavy. At high speeds the car feels like its off the ground, i cant turn for shit and it just feels like a boat. That being said the shelby is still my most favorite car in the world especially his cause its insanely fast and gets compliments and looks all day.

THAT BEING SAID. I still rather drive my frs everyday over that just cause the frs has a lot more then any car can offer and i think only a few people can understand what im trying to explain

All true. I just get tired of explaining this to everyone who asks the HP number and then looks disappointed.
