Props for mentioning this. We are ambassadors. Let's focus on being friendly no matter what.

I don't know if it's been covered, are you able to come or are you just heading it up and won't attend? @Chen

I don't plan on it. But communicating with the app will probably be best.

I'll be there!

Decay107 06-17-2015 05:56 PM

Ok, so since it appears we'll be slabbing it all the way up to the top secret underground submarine factory and missile base pre-meet location, who is down for making the drive slower and a little more stressful?! :D I'm thinking hyper mile challenge, with all the cardboard aero, seam taping, and truck drafting that generally entails.

Who's in?
For the record my best average for a similar length journey was 35.4MPG without employing any of the aero tricks above.

m.box.design 06-17-2015 06:06 PM

When I was driving back from the first mega meet, I got 40 mpg cruising 65mph

Woah! That on stock tires/alignment/exhaust? Those are the three areas where I know I'm losing efficiency.

Since the supercharger install I've been averaging 23mpg. Before I was averaging 28mpg. Moar power (or lead foot higher rpms) = more gas.

Jonesy86 06-17-2015 06:39 PM

Even if i hyper mile, i will only get 23mpg. I'm out!

I don't believe you best I have gotten is 31...I average 23 but that's probably cause I drive mostly streets and local...oh and I hit the redline usually once per day

Andrew025 06-17-2015 10:29 PM

I've been going WOT a lot since the supercharger install and I'm still averaging 24+ with 50/50 city/highway driving.

Ultramaroon 06-18-2015 12:12 AM

It would be interesting if we all reset our fuel mileage calculators at departure and compared notes at the event.

wrohdejr 06-18-2015 01:15 AM

When i went to kent washington 3 weekends ago i averaged 30.5 mpg and i was going 75+ the whole way except through tacoma where the limit drops down to 55.

stockysnail 07-01-2015 12:17 AM

@Chen I propose we meet up in NW downtown Portland (Con-way 2055 NW Savier) at 645am and leave at 7am to drive up the the first pit stop in Ridgefield that we will be at 730am to 8am. There is lots of parking at my work.

This way the Portland area peeps can leave from Portland as a group directly onto the freeway all together.

If voodoo donuts would persuade anyone perhaps I'll make a pit stop there first if you like this idea. :)

I looked up this address and it puts us at a Credit union. Is that correct?

Also Updated 1st post if you would read it over.

The Parking lot one block south of that. There's no address for it since it's a vacant lot but everyone will see the large empty block and my car. It's between 2055 NW Savier which is the Con-way building (and the credit union) and 20th and NW Raleigh.

m.box.design 07-04-2015 05:26 AM

did we ever decide on a phone app to relay the convoy with?

Still playing around with voxer and group me.

Chen 07-04-2015 04:04 PM

I've decided just to use voxer. It's a lot more universal and te cross platform. Everybody just needs to download, login via fb and I can create a group.

I just installed Voxer. It says in order to use walkie talkie mode I need to upgrade to the paid version. What use is this if we can't use walkie talkie?
