Getting rid of my mustang

That's my baby, an 05 GT that just hit 20k miles. Hopefully be getting a call today for a 15 frs in black.

Made the trade because the mustang handles like a freight train. SRA isn't good for back roads here. Just want something light, sporty, that handles exceptionally. Don't plan to mod too much besides wider and stickier tires, maybe a few cosmetics. Tiny chance of an ls swap. Tiny, and not for a long way down the road.

if any of you are in the belleville area of IL, be looking for me. :)

What were you doing that a 2005 mustang only has 20K miles on it? Backing down the driveway and pulling back in for ten years?

I bought it 2 years ago and it had 5k Miles on it. Friend at Plaza Motors took it in from some old guy on a trade in for a new lexus. I bought it the same day.

Wow, sounds like the previous owner wasn't even backing it down the driveway. Hopefully he drives his Lexus a little more frequently.

From what they said he had bought it for his wife, but she didn't want it. I had to get the mileage verified and it checked out, it was bone stock, still is. Really was a great find after I totaled my Infiniti lol

Welcome! I like those Bullitt style wheels on the Mustang btw.

Thank you! They came with it, I'm personally not a chrome guy but they do look good.

Just got a call from the dealer, frs will be in in about 2 hours!

Edit: I got an auto. Mustang is a manual. too much traffic, did not enjoy as much as I would've wanted. Test drove an auto, very happy.

Im making the same switch. I had owned a 2012 Boss 302 for about a year. It was a great car but expensive to drive everyday. Im going from big power V8 muscle to what I like to think of as REALISTIC fun. Cheaper car, cheaper oil, cheaper gas, cheaper insurance, etc.. and I could have as much fun with an FRS on the street/ track as a mustang or related car.

Cars like we have never really get to be opened up either, not unless you're on a big long track which I definitely don't have access too around here.

I just hate how I cringe at every bump I go over at speed because I'm busy worrying about the back end hopping up and kicking out if I'm turning.

Just an FYI an oil change for the 86 is >5 quarts and it being 0W-20 it's difficult to find quality oil less than about $7/qt, not sure what the Mustang was at but including a filter (OEM is generally recommended and not that expensive at ~$9) you're up to around $50-$60 for an oil change on the 86 unless you go for cheap oil or jiffy lube places, but since you're tracking I'd avoid those like the plague. Insurance varies more on location, amount driven and your personal profile than type of car driven.

But yes, averaging >25 mpg without even trying even with sticky tires and me driving like an idiot. And with many parts being shared with various Toyota's and Subaru's parts will likely be cheaper if/when they break.
