Cold Air Intake?
 

I was gonna get a new cold air intake in my scion FR-s what kind do you suggest I'm leaning towards the perrin one.

ditch the cold air intake you save $340 (perrin)

Spend $40 on a drop in filter (apexi/K&N ect) instead it will give you about same power increase.

Be aware that the stock filter is likely far more efficient at filtering particles than either a drop in replacement filter or filters used on aftermarket intakes.

Use the $300 to put towards a tune and set of headers

Or a tune for E85 and switch to E85 fuel.

Skip the intake and get a drop in is my recommendation.

If you do get one get the TRD intake which is what will be in the STI and TS editions coming to America next year.

Why? Well its a warrantied product and wont hurt your cars value when you go to resale or trade in.

I have the TRD intake and I like it. Cost $365 from a dealer and I installed it myself in about 30 minutes.

As already stated, a filter and maybe a silicone elbow are better bang for buck. If you must have one check out the Skunk2 and Grimspeed intakes.

you know, all these guys keep recommending a drop in filter. If your bumpin your power up might as well LSx swap it :bonk: :lol:

the drop in has proven to be the best bang for your buck, sure theres a few intakes that have actually made power on this engine, but that comes at a price. 2/3 of that power can be had with a drop in. More power will come from a tune, which would be better suited for your money.
