Im thinking of just doing touch up paint on it since the damages are minor.
has anyone done this kind of paint repair by themselves? I just dont want to repaint the whole bumper cause i had to do that for the front lip on the first day i got my car LOL

thats what it looked like before i got it fixed

You didn't catch anyone with the dashcam? :(

iarefluffy 04-01-2015 03:59 PM

No I didn't ): and my dash can separates the videos into 1 minute segments. I have to browse through like 30 different clips haha.
It happened probably in that mama Lu's plaza on Ynez and garvey. I was getting a drink at teabrick ):

Some shop said i probably wouldnt want it because he quoted me about $800 for the front bumper. He said its because its so darn complicated.

iarefluffy 04-01-2015 04:18 PM

Oh well I got the bumper done for like around 200? A full repaint. Id say the color match was pretty good too. Since the bumper is plastic

I would have looked through it. If it was a small scratch I wouldn't bother, but this is pretty bad hit and run. I was at mama lu's like two days ago. lol

Choco 04-01-2015 05:37 PM

Oh wait, the last picture wasn't the damage. I thought someone hit you so hard the lip fell out. lol Oops

iarefluffy 04-01-2015 05:57 PM

na my mom did the lip thing lol

I would probably do the touch up paint. Gonna fix some scratches and dings on my car as well. I believe the steps are wash/clean => primer pen => dry => touch up pen =>let dry and wipe access => repeat as many as you feel => clear coat pen, wipe => let dry =>wash/clean/ wax and you're good. I mean it's not going to be cheap to buy all the required products on the spot but in the long run it's worth it.

That area has the worst drivers. I almost die every time I pass that area.

I would had filed a police report for hit and run and use one of my deductible waivers.

I'd go to G5 for paint protection film.

Contact Jose at A Cut above Deatling. I hit a trash container and he repaired by bumper. Matched the paint perfectly. I can post a picture because I'm on my phone, but look him up on FB. He has pictures of his work. Tell him Jesse with the Blue BRZ sent you. Way cheaper than painting my bumper. Glad I gave him a call. 16263939424

I used a bit of touch up paint for a small scrape after I parked by car at Vons for a half hour. It looked absolutely terrible but it wasn't very noticeable. :(

I agree, driving/parking in SGV is asking to get some damage on your car.

I was at a stop light by Atlantic and Garvey the other day and got bumped. It was a complete stop and we'd both been waiting for a good 2 minutes or so when i hear the bump and my car shakes.
No serious damage except for a tiny paint chip, but mad regardless.

Watch out and park FAR away from other cars in the area.

LOL I was there today making a left from Garvey onto atlantic. A car made a right while I had a protected left and I almost drove into him/her.

Beware of parking far away, my FRS was almost towed because they thought I went to another restaurant even though I never left the complex. This was at the 168 Supermarket near New Ave.

I learned to never park my FRS anywhere else except at home and at the secure parking lot at work where I have guards with guns
