Bay Area Paint Jobs

Hey everyone,

I recently picked up an unpainted TRD aero kit and I'm looking for recommendations on a place that does excellent paint jobs; preferably in the Fremont area! I have a 10 series so matching is going to be more of a pain -- hence the need for a reputable place.

Thank you in advance!

People say good things about RJ's Paint Shop in Pleasenton.

yep, I used RJ's Paint shop for my 5 Axis spoiler and they did a great job.
I will warn you, RJ is a straight shooter. Hopefully you bought a real TRD aero kit, or a quality piece. He doesn't think highly of fiberglass replicas and won't sugar coat it, if a piece is poorly made and will take a lot of work to make it look good, he will tell you and maybe even refuse to work on it. Because ultimately the work is a reflection on his shop and if you are trying to go cheap he will try and convince you to go another route. For a unique color like the 10 series I can see him charging more to ensure a good color match, but probably best to talk to him and get the facts straight from him. I just know that if and when I need more painting/body work I will very likely go back to RJ.

I appreciate the feedback. The kit is authentic TRD so hopefully quality control did their job ;) I'll give RJ a ring!

+1 for RJ's. Saw his shop surrounded by Porsches and had to give it a try. Pearl white on my greddy lip came out better matched than the cwest sideskirts that came prepainted. Attachment 105851

Did the indentation on the side skirts come painted black or did you do that once you got them in?

RJ's does fantastic work. One of the few body shops I trust in my area.

The indentations are wrapped in black vinyl by the previous owner of the skirts.

I took my car to White Oaks Auto Body today to get some damage repaired, to replace my stock BRZ wing for a five axis wing, and paint sideskirts. I did a lot of research, and of the South Bay Area, White Oaks, The Works, and Active Autobody were among the top candidates I found. I should have it back by the end of the week and I'll let you know how it turned out, got my fingers crossed.

RJ's definitely gets great reviews, they were just a bit too far for me.

Just to update, White Oaks did an awesome job.

The paint match was spot on, their welding and filling looks great, they fixed my damage - panel gaps look pretty good afterwards. They installed the rear wing, and sideskirts and didn't make any fuss about the aftermarket parts.

The guys at the shop were really laid back, the price was better than the other shops I visited (B-line, Active Auto, The Works).
