Coming back to u.s. for the twins

hey guys. ive been a lurker on the car since its release was ever mentioned but was unable to purchase because i had to move to japan for some work. finally on my way back towards the end of this year. I'm hoping to start gathering parts for mods when i return to the u.s. and purchase one of the twins. Can you guys recommend anything i should purchase while i'm here in japan that would be more expensive/difficult to get if i were in the states.

thanks a lot guys!:)

Purchase everything in japan you probably save alot of money

Don't know about the US but bringing anything with any real value back to Canada would cost as much or more in duty and taxes then the hassle would be worth.

It depends on what you consider difficult. A one off body kit or second hand Nardi or bride seats, sure.

With the exchange rate nothing is really cheaper, but you do save a lot with shipping. Everything there you can attain is the States. With that, you have to keep in mind there is only so much you can bring with you on your trip back, considering how carry on luggage has been more limited lately. You can ship overseas but then you're back to square one. On top of that, I always get sketched going through customs by not declaring car parts (you're not allowed to bring in anything over $200 in value iirc).

Personally, I would gather small STI parts you can stuff in your luggage (push start, shift knob, side markers, etc). Hope you had fun overseas.

Thanks for friendly responses! I guess i should have specified. Essentially, I can gather as much as I really need. I believe i get about 3500 lb's free shipping back to the states when i return. So one might say.. the skys the limit! I've daydreamed of bringing back volk te37's and some brembo calipers but haven't done the necessary research yet. I'm hoping to get the frs because i've seen better deals on it compared to the brz.

edit: I wouldn't mind searching through junk yards as well if it was worth it. I've seen a lot of silvias, skylines, sti's/wrx's, and supras just around the edge of the fence so part picking from those shouldn't be too hard.
