Order Placed 6th of June, No Build Date Given?

G'Day Guys,

I placed an order on the 6th of June for an 86. I haven't been given a Build Date or a Web Tracking Password that I have seen mentioned here is other threads, should I be concerned ?

Has anyone else placed an order after pricing was released on the 4th and been given build dates or web tracking information ??

Cash or subject to finance? Any conditions limiting the go ahead of the sale?

Nope, I asked them to put the order in, signed the agreement on the day, got trade in prices for my car.

Did they give you an ETA or a VIN? Sounds like your dealer purposely didn't give these to you so you'd sign the contract.

He already signed it on the 6ths so i don't think that is the reason.

im actually in the same boat. pretty cranky about it.

You should have an ETA on your contract - they have an additional 30 days from the ETA to deliver the car to you otherwise you have the right to cancel the contract.

I've just been told my car is to be built in July and delivered in August - still haven't got a tracking number or a confirmed VIN. But come 18th I'm sure I'll get final confirmation once they've got all the details in their order system.

On 4th of June - literally 5 mins after the price was announced.

davey90 06-12-2012 08:20 PM

um...you won't have a VIN till your car is built....:bonk:

You won't have a build date till the dealer contacts the stock controller to find a vacant month to squeeze you in. Give them some time and they'll have a build date for you.

I put in an order on the afternoon of the 4th. Fortunately my dealer showed me a print-out of their incoming stock schedules and pointed out the few 86's they had coming in along with the port ETAs.

From this sheet he was able to give me a build date (22/06/12) and a local port arrival date (13/07/12) which he also wrote on my contract. He verbally told me that it usually takes 7-10 days for them to get the car ready from port to dealer so I'll be expecting ~20 July for pickup.

A day later, I asked him to set up a tracking id/pw for me which he also arranged for me

I hope they are able to stick to the dates...

Is the tracking ID/Pass your batch and Service order number? I was told it was, but I can't get the tracking site to work.

Sales Order No = User Code, Batch No = Password

But the dealer might have to set something up in the back-end before it activates in the tracking system...
