How much was your fix it ticket?

How much was your fix it ticket for your licence plate, tint, exhaust, etc? Was it correctable? How did you resolve the issue?

I have tint and no front plate. I know eventually I will get caught, but not sure if I would rock a side plate or just chance it again.

Normally if its marked correctable, all you have to do is correct the offense then get it signed off for $10 (at the stations) then take it to the court house for a $25 processing fee. cash/check only. So in the end its about $35 if its correctable. Correct me if im wrong but i think its per offense.

-had a "too low" fix it.

same here. the cop actually pulled out a tape measure and checked the distance of my headlights to the ground. this was back in like 98 when i had an accord. so instead of swapping springs again, i just put borrowed my friend's pair of 240sx wheels (same 4x114.3) but with taller tires and put those on the front. it was juuuuuust enough to put me 1/2" above the legal limit and i got the tix signed off by CHP  the officer was cool the whole time too and at the end told me i didnt even have to pay the $10 inspection fee. :party0030:

$81 for fix it front plates. Couldn't get it sign off cause CHP wants my tints removed as well. Just paid the fine.

22inches minimum headlight height is the magic number.

$81 for front plates? How long ago was this? They didn't give you a ticket for the tints? or did they just mention the tint when you were trying to get the front plate signed off?

SleePi 03-27-2015 09:20 PM

It was was back in like November. I was parked on the street to find a ticket on my windshield for no front plates. I went to the CHP office to get the ticket signed off and they were like I know you have tints on your front windows, I can not sign off the ticket until you get those removed as well.

The fines vary depending on where you live, much like speeding and redlight tickets.

how low were you? because in order for that to be a fair ticket, your frame needs to be lower than your rim. otherwise that cop was a prick, and wrongfully ticketed you.

edit: geez, I wasnt aware that the headlights have to be 22 inches above the ground though..

$25 for modified exhaust. No charge for inspection.

i almost got a ref ticket for my takeda intake when he asked me to pop my hood. i told him its completely stock and he believed me. Haha

My headlight was right at 22 inches so that wasn't the issue. What had happened was i hit a pothole and my front lip ripped off and was basically dragging then on. Officer issued the ticket and asked me to remove the front lip which was touching the ground.

Never open your hood when they "ask" you to. Unless you are bone stock or not afraid of tickets. But you got away and that's all that matters.

Geez I guess this thread came in handy. I just got pulled over for having no front plate Thursday. I bought the car on Christmas 2012 and had no problems till now. Guess I'll get it signed off and give you a update number... Lol

Autocon 03-30-2015 09:10 PM

I've gotten 2 no front plate tickets, both time they were when my car was parked at a parking meter with plenty of time left on them too. Fucking worthless meter maids trying to nickel and dime you for whatever they can >.>

25 each time, didn't need to get them signed off. Paid online and will do the same next time I get another one. One in Santa Monica, one is Hollywood.
