LH License Plate Light Not getting power
 

I've been searching for a solution to this issue before I let Subaru deal with it.

The driver side license plate bulb isn't getting power. I've checked the bulbs (they're good). As far as I can tell there aren't separate fuses for each side of the plate. Also, I don't have an awesome wiring diagram for just the trunk. If anyone has any advice, detailed diagrams, or anything constructive please let me know.

Have you checked with a multimeter to know that for sure you aren't getting power?

Edit: I know it's silly, but if they're LED lights, did you put them in the socket the correct way?

I have to try the meter. And no that's not silly but valid. The polarity is correct. tried multiple bulbs just to be sure I didn't have a couple bad ones. I'll report back on the multimeter findings.

Yeah, the meter is going to be the best way to check. Have you looked inside the socket to make sure that it's all good in there and the bulbs would be making contact with it? If that's good, start making your way back through the wiring harness to ensure everything is good to go

So.... Second time is the charm? I doubled checked the pins on the bulb and the socket. Individually they seemed fine. But comparing them to the side that worked I saw that they were both a bit off. I bent the pings with spring pressure closer together in the socket and adjusted the pins on the bulb. All good now. Thanks again. The lesson here is "check again."
