OpenFlash Tablet: Tire pressure/Temp display?

Hi guys,
One feature we have been wanting to add to the OFT is the ability to display tire pressure and temp (as provided by the TMP sensors). But for that, I need access to an tool that can display this data. This tool must be OBD2 plug interfaced. My Autoenginuity diagnostic tool can view tire temp, but not pressure. What does Techstream allow you to view?

Cheers
Shiv

I can check tonight. I have used it to make some changes to factory settings.

@Shiv@Openflash

any chance of adding these to OFT

1. ECU reset function
2. Learning view mode to show FLKC correction table and MAF correction table similiar to

http://www.romraider.com/forum/downl...7677&mode=view

That is something that we can implement. I just need to see it done with another device. Reverse engineering the CAN dialogue is pretty straightforward. What other system (for the GT86) provides that info? BRZedit?

Yes I am pretty sure BRZ edit has the learning table info

not sure about the ecu reset though.

This looks to be an awesome feature. Can't wait to get one of these in the next couple weeks.

Would be great to check out the BRZ edit software. Anyone local to us (SF Bay area, CA) running it on their car?

Just thinking out loud here, would it be possible to disable the TPMS with the OFT? I sold my stock wheels with the sensors, so I see the light on the dash everyday. :(

elBarto 03-26-2015 02:27 PM

Any possibility to have a 'change to metric' option? That would be a nice option for the international users :-)

Thorpedo 03-26-2015 02:30 PM

Stop changing the subject :p I want the feature listed in the original post! Get this man the tool and I'll paypal you ten bucks.

@Shiv@Openflash

Techstream will display Tire Temp and Pressure under Data List in the Tire Pressure Monitor tab

also, might be good to start an OFT Suggestion Box thread to keep your individual threads free of clutter lol

Shiv, I'm not sure if the twins are a pacific/denso or trw sensors but if they are Pacific, you should be able to get temp, pressure, and sensor name. You could even theoretically put the sensors to sleep mode 1 (shipping off) or 0 (off/off) with the correct tuning. Only function you won't be able to monitor is location since the BCM doesn't support it.

If they're TRW, I think you can only get pressure.

Main thing I'd like to see if if you can disable the CANBUS communication so that the vehicle doesn't throw a tpms light based on BCM to cluster communication.

oooooohhhh yessss...if you could find a way to tune out the tire light when I have my winter tires on that would be badass

Any progress on this yet? Would be very nice to have assuming it's doable.

@Shiv@Openflash, any progress on this or did it just not work when you started looking into it more?

It's been about a month and a half since he responded in this thread. I'm guessing it went nowhere. Cool idea though.

DustinS 05-08-2015 01:22 PM

He seems to be MIA in the FRS/BRZ department. I see he has logged in recently and even posted a thread. Though has not responded in any threads, and I haven't received any email replies back from them. They are pretty deep into the Fiats right now though.

He's just one guy managing development for multiple different platforms. Software is also hard to do expediently. He'll take care of us, don't you worry. Can't really complain that they're taking a while to add features the OFT didn't even have when many of us first bought them.

I've been living on the dyno for the last two weeks since we just launched the OFT for the Abarth today. As always, for quickest response please don't email or PM me :) Just shoot an email to sales@openflashtablet.com. We are having our highest volume sales period ever so we've been pretty swamped on this side of the computer. But we are catching up and will be back to ongoing GT86 development shortly!

D_Thissen 05-08-2015 08:10 PM

Just ordered an OFT from a Vendor in Canada, can't wait to try it out :)
Thanks for making something like this available to us!

And we have you guys mainly to thank for that :) GT86 is certainly our biggest market and most entertaining market. Fantastic little cars!

Finally took the plunge and got an oft, looking forward to all the wonderful things it currently does and the things it will be able to do in the future.

I don't want anyone to take that as complaining. I know you are extremely busy. I am also extremely happy with my OFT. I was just commenting that it had been awhile since you commented on anything. It is good to see you are doing well though! High business is good business!

@Shiv@Openflash
I heard that the pistons are the weak links in the Abarth. Was told the engine can take quite a bit of spark at peak power and 190-200hp is possible if reliability was to be ignored

zc06_kisstherain 11-16-2015 06:05 PM

any update on this?

StegaDragon 11-22-2015 02:39 PM

FYI you can get techstream software for free so you can see all the features
