So... an entirely different car then :p

You don't want to drive a <1,900 lb, mid-engined, rwd, double wishbone suspension car? Even for a test drive? It's basically a more nimble MG Midget or Triumph Spitfire.

I mean, I get not wanting to live with <70hp every day like your grandmother had to, but to totally turn your nose up at it? Wow.

Wut? That thing corners at 1.2g on stock tires if you watched the videos. Considering how narrow its track is and how skinny the tires are, that's freaking amazing. The stock 3 cylinder can probably easily make 2x the "66hp" rating, and I don't believe the hp rating at all.

It's uglier than a hot pile of shit smeared on a pug's face. It could be the next coming of Christ; I'd still pass.

Even it's mother wouldn't love it.

Looks like I'm going to get bitch slapped next time I drive down there, or when you drive up here!

You could slightly stretch the chassis, which if I understand correctly is not hard to do. The extra displacement would be for us 'Muricans. That also wouldn't be hard to do, the turbo and intercooler take up quite a bit of space.

I also freely admit I'm being overly optimistic because I desperately want a newer car that's like my MR2 Spyder.

I drive the butt ugly MR2 Spyder, so I guess I have a thing for ugly hot piles of shit smeared on a pug's face. :P All is forgiven when there's the glorious sound of engine coming from behind your head.

Looks much better in the video, and this incarnation. I'd drive it as a commuter/runabout although the 1000cc model he mentioned would be better.

I saw a couple of the ordinary S660s when I was in Japan. A black one and a yellow one. They stand out like crazy. They're wild looking, but also tiiiiny. Even in Japan it would be difficult for bigger guys to fit. I can't even fit in first or second generation Miatas...

But they are still pretty rare. GT86s are rather common, but I actually saw more American brand cars (Cadillac DeVille, Ford Mustang, old El Camino, Challenger, Camaro, H2 Hummer) in 3 weeks than the 2 S660s.

I love the way the classic one looks.

I have zero interest in cars that try too hard. Whimsy gets me every time.
