out the door pricing
 

so my dealership say they will giveme what i ask before i put my deposit down. i want out the door price, and to make sure when i arrive to pick up the car there will be no mark up or additional fees. he tells me he can giveme a print out of the total price of the car. what exactly should i be seeing on this print out to feel comfortable putting my deposit down? should it say on paper "out the door price" no additional fees/mark up" and should it be signed off by the sales person or manager?

I wouldn't worry so much about the OTD price (which won't really be accurate since DMV fees are generally estimated until the paperwork/request goes to the DMV while you are signing the 20 copies of various documents, etc) but I'd want to see the price of the car and dealer/doc fee. Only tax, license, title fees, etc would be added after that. You can easily figure out the tax yourself and use an estimate for the others, depending on if you are transferring a tag or not, etc)

after they give me this print out, would it protect me for future markups that they may want to add on later? if it includes price + TTL should there be something in writing that says "no additional markups/fee"?

My dealer straight out told me they don't do dealer markups. I'm taking his word due to the dealership's reputation. I think getting it in writing is the best way to go if you are unsure... and the worst that can happen is you walk away with your $500 deposit and no BRZ...which would be sad :'(

Depends on how it's written up. In the end they can try anything, just don't do it.

the problem is its a non-refundable deposit. which is why im so concern.
