Someone backed into me (repaired with pdr)

Last night, I was parked at Irvine spectrum at the very end of an isle so that I wouldn't get dinged. I came back to my car, turned it on, and just as I started driving away I would hear rubbing whenever the moved. So I got out of my car and realized that some moron had backed into my car, and dented my rear quarter panel and bumper. So now I'm stuck with the cost of a new bumper, paint, and possibly a new quarter panel? I'm hoping it can be repaired, but im unsure. I'll get estimates tomorrow, but I was wondering if anybody else had thoughts on this situation.
It's really upsetting to when i try so hard to take care of my car, and people with no respect for others' property can damage it with no remorse or onus.
I don't even have the means to fund this repair tbh :/

I didn't take the best photos last night. It doesn't show the damage too well, but there is supposed to be a finger space between the tire and fender from this angle. Now I need to raise my suspension so I don't rub tire everywhere I go

That sucks. Wouldn't your car insurance pay for the damages?

they would but my deductible is $1000 :/

I was kind of hoping a body shop might be able to do it for cheaper, but I suppose thats wishful thinking.

what's your monthly insurance bill if you don't mind me asking?

The quarter panel can 100% be repaired. You don't need to replace it (nor would you want to).

hell no i dont want to! unless the repair cost is greater than a grand. Then I might as well get all new everything lol.
Thank you for confirming that though. Im thinking the rear bumper would have to be replaced, and then theres the cost of paint too. So I forsee the cost staying relatively the same, but what do i know. I'll just have to ask around and see what shops can do for me.

edit: Actually my bumper is completely fine. I didnt realize it would just bounce back to place, but then again the quarter panel was only dented in about an inch.

Just sayin, I pay about $95 a month with Geico and I have a $100 collision deductible... Sooo worth it!

lmao, 5800 is insane!

I havent gotten it fixed. I decided to live with it for a while, because money getting tight. However, I havent fully looked into repairs.

I went to two shops. One quoted me 1100 bucks to remove, repair, and paint the panel.. Definitely not a route Im willing to go, so I hope it doesnt turn into my only option. The other shop has a guy who does paintless dent repairs for them, so they sent me in his direction. Since I postponed looking repairing it, I didnt get a quote from him, or ask if it was even doable.

edit: well, I asked if it was doable, but he wasnt able to tell me until he looked at it in person.

whatttt???? :eyebulge:
I bet its worth it! Part of the reason is Im still young.. actually just shy of 20, so I dont expect to be getting anywhere near that price with that kind of coverage. But i can hardly wait, haha. Probably one of the better perks that comes with age is cheaper insurance :)

860 is damn good!!! Im also kind of waiting to see if I can come up on a deal through friends or family.

Jfheisenberg 04-18-2015 09:28 PM

Pay deductible, and insurance should be able to cover it..

sallgoodman123 04-27-2015 08:43 PM

Ouch! I've never had a problem parking at the Irvine spectrum, but I guess you never know :(

Aarron 04-27-2015 09:09 PM

Oh yeah, I don't have Geico but mine is about 89 a month with 0 deductible! Low deductible is def worth it!
