Tokyo Motor Show 2015-news,rumors, wild @ss guesses

http://www.tokyo-motorshow.com/en/

Keep in mind that the Tokyo Motor Show only happens every other year and this year has one.

The Japanese manufacturers take great pride in introducing big things on their home turf. The original FT-86 concept debuted at the 2009 show and the production version dropped at the 2011 show.

All rumors point to the Supra's return in 2017/2018 leading me to believe that the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show will be all about the Supra. Subaru has already shown the new WRX and STi. What else does Toyota and Subaru have to wow the crowds?

The developers originally stated that this platform would be on a longer than usual model cycle leading us here to believe possibly a 8-10 year cycle. If those numbers hold true, then we could reasonably expect to see at this year's show either a face-lifted 86 for next year or a special edition 86 before the refresh in 2017.

What's everyone else think?

If this rumor is true then it'll possibly be there too.

6 speed manual,2.0 liter turbo 4, 235 hp, 258 lbs/ft torque in a Yaris (base 3 door is only 2315lbs, 5 door 2335lbs)

Not bad Toyota, Not bad. Sounds like a Fiesta RS competitor. Question is whether either of those will be AWD or will they stick with FWD.

It would be nice to see something new related to sports cars that is not pure fanatasy prototype like Toyota FT-1. Actually other than the MX-5 -(ND), since the Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ nothing new came to market. No Nissan Silvia or new Nissan Z, no RX-7, nothing from Honda like S2000 - even the new Honda NSX is not yet out.

So it would really be nice to see something closer to production Toyota Supra or MR2 successor, maybe the Nissan 370 Z successor, the Honda "S2000" as baby NSX, a Mazda RX-7.

Well, even something new the the "Twins" would be nice, and I hope there'll be some spiced up Mazda MX-5 (ND) at least.

Would be fun if something like totally unexpected showed up like a new MR2.

I fully expect the Nissan Z35 concept to be there now that the Q60 has already been shown.
There are also rumors of a sub-z RWD sporty car. An updated ID-x concept if you will

I know it's not going to happen and I am always saying this, but I don't just want one of these, I NEED one.
