FS: Kicker PX200.1 amp, Kicker CompRT81 sub, BNIB
Good people of FT86Club,
Up for sale today are a Kicker PX200.1 amp and a CompRT81 subwoofer, both brand new in box, never installed, never had power applied. My apologies for using a potato to take the pictures, but I don't have a better camera. The PX200.1 amp is a powersports amp, so it's very small. This amp pushes 200 watts at 0.5 ohms. Panera card for scale. Currently on Amazon for $140, my price is $100. http://i.imgur.com/gymY4SB.jpg The CompRT81 is a shallow mount 8" subwoofer with dual 1 ohm voice coils. Wired in parallel that gives you 0.5 ohms, which coincidentally matches up with the amp. Strange how that works. I was going to fiberglass this into the passenger footwell, but then I decided that I could not do that instead of doing that. Currently on Amazon for $120, my price is $100. I would prefer to sell them together, since they're kind of made for each other, but I will split them up as necessary. http://i.imgur.com/NkfEKt2.jpg http://i.imgur.com/CjWugMW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Twdija5.jpg |
that amp is so tiny! I realize it's a powersports amp, but would it actually work in our cars and/or be an upgrade if it did? I still know very little about this stuff.

It does, it's a 12 volt amp. It's a class D amp, and those are always very small and generate very little heat.
As far as being an upgrade, it depends on what you're comparing it to. It needs to run at 0.5 ohms to get the most power out of it, and most subs can't do that. Most subs are single 2, single 4, dual 2, or dual 4. The CompRT line was built specifically with dual 1 ohm coils to work with their PX line of amps. |
Local sale pending.
