Should I swap?

So I still don't have a VIN from my dealer let alone an ETA, thanks SOA. I found a car somewhat near by that is exactly what I want except it's got option package 1b and the chrome fuel door option. Price is 28,906 vs 28,200. And I don't think that's OTD like my pre-order price, as I haven't negotiated anything yet.

Should I jump? I'm still not sure if I'll have trouble getting my deposit back...Don't really want to start a fight, but really want my car!

Anyone order around 4-16 that's gotten a VIN yet?

If you are 100% certain and you have signatures for that $28.2K OTD Id hold off... but if it doesnt work out Id go in there gunz'a blazin. If you arent as trustworthy Id bail and enjoy :burnrubber:

That's the thing, I've got a solid deal on that 28.2, signed and everything. But if I have to wait another month, I'll be travel most of August, I want some time with the car during the summer! :) But then again, pulling three of the add-on's off the other car seems like such a waste, let someone who likes those things buy that car instead...

Just got a response from my dealer, mine is still wait listed even though the one ordered after mine is "Scheduled" Anyone know what that means? Sounds bad to me.

DantKR 06-12-2012 04:46 PM

See if you can get the other one for the same price lol.

Turns out the dealer in Denver wants 1295 more than my pre-ordered one. Just can't see it being worth that. My patience isn't that bad! They are selling at MSRP with the port installed options, then $595 doc fee, they did offer a tint job or clear bra though.

I guess I'll just wait and hope I get it before August.

It is still kind of BS that there are cars on lots when pre-orders have not been filled. I understand nobody ordered that "color" and that is what they are waiting on, but isn't that the point of a pre-order? The factory should be able to build the cars on the preorder list and get them to the correct people.

My thoughts exactly, it piss' me off, but what can ya do? Tell SOA to change their entire operation? Not likely going to make a difference. I did ask my dealer to trade with them, but was told that wasn't likely going to happen.

Over the years, I've found most dealers in Denver are rather possessive and inflexible.

failure to get my car before 4! non ordered ones is why i bailed on the car. i was 2nd preorder (1 hour behind first), first guy got his, 4 random people get theirs :/

i could've waited but i don't like being screwed around by somebody I'm giving 30k to. If you have the patience, then enjoy the car for like a month before winter :(

personally i'd wait until next year so you don't have a brand new car with like 2000miles on it parked for the winter (unless you plan to dd) then have a year old car that hasn't been used.

getting deposit back was no problem, guy was a **** but still got it. - edit
