Haven't posted in a while.

Been busy this winter, but didn't want to forget about my car!

So, she went under the knife a bit ago.

I've always had a thing for ZG flares. So, I went ahead and did it :)

Very happy with end result, still debating paint scheme.

Wheels are being made/shipped.

FR: 18x9.5 +5
RR: 18x11 -15

Can't wait to finish this thing after its all boxxed up.

Those are some meaty tires :D

I think you need some air in that rear tire bud.

Not everything is perfect, but the proportions are right. It's gonna look sharp after your new wheels come in.

I have the next gen set of those cordless snap on tools in green. Drill, screw gun and impact. Love em. The flares look good too lol

Calbee 03-19-2015 03:40 AM

damn those zg flares are badass if the fitment was just dialed in more

i think it would look pretty good color-matched to the car.

that said, this looks like it'll be a bitch to remove bumpers.

Thanks man, no wonder I was having a shitty ride last couple days.

And bumper is a snap to remove, these are bolt on (using nutserts)

Here is my favorite view :)

Thanks, man.

I'll see what I can do as far as pics... I won't be getting my wheels until mid-May (latest). The wheels I have on the car right now are not the right offset... so everything will continue to look like crap until that time :brokenheart:

But, to really do the flares justice, I want to wait until they're painted red or black and with the proper wheels mounted.

In the mean time, I can be found on public roads :burnrubber:

Yesterday, as I was entering a parking lot, (slowly due to an inclined an entrance...) a stock RS1.0 was leaving the exact same moment.

Beautiful car, however, dude and his 10-year-old son could not stop staring at my hunk-o-junk, as I slowly scraped, I mean, pulled into the lot.

As a fellow father, I felt bad for the driver, lol.

They look as tacky as the rest of the car so I guess it works.

Did you not cut the fenders/wheel wells? I wouldn't call that going "under the knife" You need to cut the fenders or you will run into clearance issues with your tires hitting them. Unless you plan to run off-road height like you are now, which won't look as cool as it could be.

Oh I definitely plan on cutting it up, well aware of the clearance issues. New wheels are 18x9.5 +5 upfront and 18x11 -6 ( also 10mm spacer) in rear.

I do plan on lowering it a bit more, not to stance heights, but something functional for a daily. fenders/quarters will get in the way for sure :x

Definitely need to cut those fenders! Never saw the point in putting a widebody on, but keeping the stock fenders underneath.

Isn't the whole point to be able to run wider wheels than the stock fenders? So not cutting would just limit you.

Are you waiting for the new wheels to do it..or?
