Leather Seats

I'm looking for comments and/or pics from owners who have installed aftermarket leather seats/seat covers.

I'm particularly interested in info on the Clazzio kits, installs.

I have the Sard seat covers; fitment was essentially perfect though I would not say the install was fun.

I too have the sards. I'm very happy with them, install was a work out though but I expected that.

I have pictures in my build thread.

Not mine but you'll see lots of pics here-- http://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37972

I have SARD seat covers. 110% satisfied.

Fit is so great when I had my car appraised last week appraiser did not realize they were just covers!

Can't justify spending this much on covers when you could get good quality, aftermarket lightweight seats for just a little more. They look great though.

Cannot justify paying $4-600 on covers when a seat can be just as cheap? Please do point out these seats, that are properly crash tested and certified with the features and functions contained in the stock seats (air bags, sliders, adjustments, in some models heated) and they better be less than 250 a seat! :bonk:

These covers do come in pairs..and the more expensive covers come with rear seat coverings as well.

Stock seats are nice, but you can get much nicer aftermarket seats for $800/pair, which both look better and weigh a lot less. Pretty good solution if you're not comfortable messing with the side air bags though.

My rear seats are gone anyway. /shrug

Link to these seats you speak of? Does that $800 include rails and sliders?

LOL please tell me where I can get TWO aftermarket seats for $350.

That is how much I paid for my SARD seat covers which was for the entire (front and rear) car.

EDIT: I did see your link above. It would be interesting to get someones review who has actually owned a pair of the seats available on the site. Also the seats explicitly state they require the brackets and mounting equipment to be purchased separately. So add another ~$100 per seat.

See link above. A lot of seats come with rails included. Quality and included rails vary by brand. Check individual descriptions to see if the seats you're looking at include them.

They are all common brands in the aftermarket seat business. Obviously you get better quality seats the more you spend, but you can get some very decent seats for around the $600-800 mark.

Have you ever had after market seats? :bonk:
Do you know you need Seats, Sliders(included in many) and BRACKETS? :bonk:
Do you know how much brackets cost? Go look it up. ~150 each. :bonk:
Do you know that the two halves of a seat on a reclining seat, top/bottom are joined together with a reclining mechanism, and cheap seats wiggle/giggle/ back and forth and there is a LOT play in them? :bonk:
The only low cost seats in that link that look decent are the cipher auto ones, made with "leatherette" which I would not call "nicer" :bonk: well, I have brz alcantara's so you probably have cloth seats? :bonk:

600-800 for your "nicer" seats w/ sliders included.
and 300 for BRACKETS. :bonk:
for that cost I could probably find a used set of EVO X seats made by RECARO

I'm not arguing with anyone, just offering facts. Aftermarket seats, rails, and brackets can all be purchased for around the $600-800 price range. If you want seats with better materials then you will pay a little more. Leather racing seats or heated/cooled Recaros are obviously going to be much more expensive. Cloth perfectly suits my needs and is preferred in our 100+ degree Texas sun.

You have the alcantara leather seats? Great! The seat covers aren't aimed at people like you who have nicer seats from the factory. All I'm saying is the price of these "covers", which honestly have poor fitment around the inside lower bolsters as anyone can see in the pictures, is starting to touch aftermarket seat territory.

Sorry, but the fitment shown below is extremely tacky and not worthy of my $500. I'd rather spend an extra $500 and get much nicer aftermarket seats. If tacky and wrinkled appearances are your thing however, then that is great for you. Some of us like to do things right rather than doing things cheaply.
