Headlights projecting on the floor

Hi,

I just got my 86 a little over a week ago and I noticed that the headlights project on the floor and only go to a cars length ahead. Not sure if this is normal for this car since its low to the floor or if this is an issue with the angle of the headlights. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'll try to take some pics at night so you guys can see what I'm talking about.

Thanks,
V

1. take it to the dealer.
2. adjust them.
3. did you buy used? accidents? salvaged?

Nope got it new. Dealer is shittly. Once the sale was made that was the end of picking up my calls. Think I will find a new dealer.

Is it a Monogram with OEM HID headlights? If it is theres a small thumbwheel to the left of the steering wheel on the dash that controls headlight angle. When I bought my car they were pointed straight down too, but the adjustment brings them up to a more standard level.

Not sure about the FR-S but the BRZ has headlight adjustment switches to the left hand side of the steering column...a dial that adjusts headlight level...give a check and I'm hoping that fixes your problem.

Just found this picture to help illustrate, the dial on the right adjust level of headlights, the dial on left adjusts brightness of interior/instrument lighting:

I actually enjoy reading the manuals but haven't had the time. Not even to play with all the buttons in the car.

Just teasing!
My wife's RVR had it's headlights aimed at the ground for about a year before I finally went "Hmmmm what is this switch for?"

It's funny how we miss the most obvious things. In my Camaro I didn't notice that I could adjust my HUD up and down till using it for 6 months. I've gota say, this car blows the camaro out of the water with how it drives. It's so much fun.....but I do miss the power.
