Super cheap track day? Super cheap track day!!

So I just found out about a track day being put on by the autocross club of central oregon at ORP on April 4th. Cost is $130 :confused0068: (or $140 with lunch, which I strongly recommend). Looks like they will have 4 run groups and lots of instructors available.

For those that haven't been, ORP is more technical, safer, and has WAY more elevation change than PIR (basically, it's just better). And going with more autocross biased clubs give the opportunity to observe and try out some very different lines than you'd see among a more focused track day crowd.

So who is in? :D

That's why many, myself included, spend the night in a closer hotel beforehand.

how many do they run on the track at a time? 20 min sessions are they?

Is it one on one instructors as in riding shotgun or following them?

Each organization has it's own rules and process. ACCO is limiting their entries to 80 in 4 run groups. Assuming they fill out the entry sheet, you can assume approximately 20 in a group. This will depend on how many sign up in each group. Could be more, could be less. Most clubs run 20 min sessions. Again, most clubs have instructors riding with the student so definitely one on one. It's great fun to get your 86 on the track, I'm sure you would enjoy it. Suggest you get in contact with the organizers as they will be able to answer all of your questions. http://www.motorsportreg.com/events/...9#.VQrFp2ctHIV

I think you need to re assess what super cheap means lol There is a test and tune at SCR coming up and its only $30 for the whole day.. $130 is a lot of damn money just to go run around a track. Instructors would be nice though.

Not bad at all! Wish that was closer because I'd burn off the cost difference in just gas and lodging.

Bump, just signed up. Anyone else on here going? Think I saw one BRZ in the entry list.

Went to this today, i highly recommend it if ACCO does another. 2 hours and 40 minutes of track time and a damn good lunch for $140.

And the intermediate group was awesome. Only seven cars and all were totally different. We had a caterham powered by an R1 motor, a C6 Corvette, a Miata, me, a turbo MR-2, an SRT-4, and an Chumpcar Acura.
