Bumper Damage

2 Attachment(s)
So my girlfriend was working on her EG the other day and she took the parking brake out and the car wasn't in gear... long story short her car rolled back and smashed into my FRS. Not much damage only $300 to repair. But the body shop took the front bumper off and is spraying the whole bumper. To me this is fine. The only thing I am concerned about is the new paint matching. The car only has 6,000 miles on it so no paint fade. Anyone have issues with paint matching after body repair? I pick the car up tonight and I am getting anxious. lol. The accident happened literally 5 minutes after I was and waxed the car. Below are two pictures. The before and after lol. I'll try to get pics up of the repair tonight.

1. time for new gf

2. Paint should be pretty good, as long as the shop knows what they're doing. The few firestorm frs' with damage/repair, the paint has looked darn good. Luckily its not white or some other very-difficult to match color.

Don't forget that the paint on the bumper vs car body might look a little different because metal/plastic...it was probably pretty darn close, but now that you're gonna be staring at it/over-analyzing, you might think it looks different haha.

I had my rear bumper repainted and in certain light mainly dusk or sunrise you can see a slight color mismatch and the bumper paint seems to be more reflective and better than the original paint. It does not brother me since its hard to see it but it mainly depends on what body shop you go to.

lol @ your #1.

And you're right about the over anaylizing it. Just hope it has the same amount of shine, as well.

The body shop I went to has a really good reputation. So fingers crossed it will turn out good.

Yes, it's a diffuser I designed on solidworks and laser cut it.

Annahra 03-13-2015 01:51 PM

lol maybe. I'm about to leave work to pick up the FRS. She has an EG making 307 to the wheels and drags it. I have a teg making 615whp and also drag that. It's what we do in the summer. And yeah she is pretty hot. Been dating for 3 years.

talk is cheap.

Pictures are for verification of this, I'd hate for you to be remembered as a fraud on this forum.

3 years, huh? Time to put a ring on that lol.

Actually, hold the ring thing until we see a photo.

lmao. Here she is. And yes we have been talking about the whole marriage thing. I'm nearly 26 and she is 23. So it's about that time. She has a few more years of school so after that maybe.

Well here is the new paint. $310. I'm still at work and had my gf pick it up. Then my buddy took a pic of it. To me it looks darker but he said it's just me. He can't tell a difference in person. So we will see when I get home.

Okay this angle looks much better. Yeah I can't tell that it's been painted. Such a relief.

continuecrushing 03-13-2015 05:35 PM

hmm, photos will be tough, but it looks pretty good.

Like I said, paint will show up differently because of the different materials anyway. Plus the starring and over-analyzing haha

Its painted, looks decent, don't sweat it.

FRStrent 03-14-2015 06:39 PM

Everything looks perfect. Body lines are spot on since there was no change/damage there.

brandonblt2 03-15-2015 01:01 PM

Your first pic is how my bumper looks in certain sunlight

I just thought with the force of the car hitting it that it would sag a bit
but yeah it looks good

Yeah it didn't hit hard enough to deform the bumper. Just harder enough to gouge a few holes in it and take paint off.

lol idk man. It just seems like that kind of time. A few years ago I was all about that street racing life but it's funny how fast you "grow up" in just a few years. My next thing I want is to start looking at buying or building a house. (with a good size garage of course). lol

Mikeez 03-19-2015 01:02 AM

Date whichever girl you want, propose whenever you are ready. God help you friend. Don't listen to people here, some people shall see themselves first before taking and judging.

I should start a topic about post a pic of you. ;)
