Saw this Five Axis Edition in Irvine by 85 degree bakery. sexy!

Hey guys, Im new from sunny So Cal. Im here because I am looking to trade my 350Z for an FR-S/BRZ. Saw one yesterday and just fell in love! I want it for a DD mainly because the gas mileage is soooo much better than my 350Z for a DD. I am not new to the sport/performance car game as I have had my 350Z for almost 5 years, and I have put many miles in my stepdad's GT-R, so I really enjoy and appreciate good performance cars, especially the versatile FR-S/BRZ platform I have been hearing about. Anyways, glad to be here, and just thought I would share some pics of my 1st FR-S that I saw. Thanks. You guys don't have a new user intro thread do you?

I agree! It looks really good! from a distance when I saw the car, I almost thought it was an LF-A because the tailights were tinted red. Looks awesome! Anybody know where someone could acquire this tint and have it installed? His had almost a matte like finish on the tailight. It was beautiful. Love everything about this car, although I think I would have went with some 18s vs 19s on this car.

Definitely a beautiful car with the kit, although I think I'm preferring the TRD kit with the black trim along the sides and the extended fog lamp area. It also seems to blend into the sides better with a smaller lip at the top of the side skirts. Here's a side by side I did in an earlier thread.

For some reason, I like the Five Axis kit better. I think it looks cleaner without the 2 tone, but I am looking at a black FR-S, so the 2-tone is almost non-existent. Im just worried about ground clearance for a DD with the Five Axis kit. This guy had 19s on his car, and his front end look very slammed. I want 17s or 18s for this car, so with the Five Axis kit, and the drop, it wouldn't be very practical for me. Is the TRD kit any better when it comes to ground clearance? I can't really tell from the photos.

No problem there. I like the red/black combo because it reminds me of my 1985 MK1 MR2 that was red with lots of black trim including the whale tail. Its a nostalgia thing with me.

Not having seen it in person I can't really say although I suspect if they use the same mounting holes/etc that they would be pretty close to the same (lack of) ground clearance. SpecializedPerformance may be able to answer that. They have a thread dedicated to their TRD build with better photos here.

Dude, that was soooo wrong (but hilarious)! Bathsalts anyone?

Shenks 06-11-2012 07:20 PM

While that indeed looks hawt, for some odd reason well, not really odd but i like the TRD ones much much better.

Sasquachulator 06-11-2012 07:23 PM

Wow you can actually SEE the kit on the red one (unlike the black one where its almost hidden completely) and it looks far better than it seems like it did on the black one.

Gonna need more shots of the sides, rear, and whatnot to get a better view of it. I actually like the back of it.
