Finally installed and tuned my Gen 1 Vortech SC. - 270 WHP

So I finally got around to installing and tuning my Gen 1 Vortech I bought back in 2013 :) Car still has the stock exhaust and header. I had an Airaid intake and a tune before this and I was able to get 190 WHP out of her which wasn't half bad IMO. But I finally put a day aside, got the Vortech on and then tuned her earlier this week on ECU Tek. Car made 264 in 4th and 272 in 5th Uncorrected, 260 and 268 corrected. I am very happy with these results. Next mod will be a Southbend clutch since she is slipping a bit between shifts if I don't lift and change gears quickly. After clutch I will get an NTK wideband wired up and plumbed in, and then probably a PPE header and custom single exit exhaust - I have been thinking it would be fun to play with a blown diffuser actually.

Anyhow here is the dyno.

By gen 1, do you mean the earlier supercharger that had a different pulley and/or compressor housing?

I remember something about them revising the supercharger and sending replacements to owners who had the old design

This is the internally lubricated 7 PSI blower. The newer one was the externally lubricated 9 psi unit. This one does have the revised charge piping that doesn't hit the drive belt like the very first batch did. The current model of this blower does have a slightly smaller pulley that makes 9PSI by 7200 or so. I hadn't heard they would give you a new pulley though - I may have to ask about that :)

I have my stock one laying around somewhere....

So this is the V3 kit, gotcha. Good numbers

Be careful with the clutch. That slippage is what is protecting the rest of your drivetrain when you're flat foot shifting. If the clutch doesn't slip, the shock load is going somewhere else. This is how you break transmissions and axles.

I think the current V3 which runs at 9PSI has an upgraded blower too, and it was a free upgrade for everyone with the original kit - you definitely want to look into that.

You have exhaust mods? Those are pretty decent numbers for the original kit!

The newest version is still internally lubricated not externally. You can buy an externally lubricated one if you want though. It isnt standard.

How did you get 190 whp with an intake and a tune only...? On pump gas? That is unheard of.
