Updates from a new FR-S owner

I've noticed the shifting is slightly notchy when it's cold which is probably somewhat normal but it could also be better while warm. 17K miles on the clock so I just ordered 4 liters of Motul Gear 300...$75 shipped. Not bad if I do say so myself. I ordered it from autoplicity.com.

I'm starting its new life with Mobil 1 0W-20 as I'm a religious Mobil 1 user so I'll take care of that this weekend. Man how I love the location of the oil filter...

I just learned today that it has lowering springs on it. I thought the car seemed a little lower than stock. The springs are red and they feel excellent but I thought that was stock at first. I'm thinking they are TRD or Tanabe but I will call the previous owner Friday who works at the Toyota dealership I bought it from and find out for sure. Other than that I've read about the cricket noise and mine is slight. There's an ethanol free gas station near my house so I may start using their gas.

Loving the car, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it as a daily driver.

They are probably TRD. +1 on using ethanol free gas.

No ethanol gasoline FTW.

What octane does it come in there?

My only option here is non-ethanol 90.

Here in NC we have the benefit of 93 octane. This place sells 93 ethanol free octane but it's over $3 a gallon. Everywhere else is about $2.10 for regular so people don't buy it that much. I'm anal about engine life and performance so I don't mind spending the extra $10-$15. I'll still probably be spending less than when I was dailying my truck.
