e-bay q300 like catbacks

i've seen people have tried out the j2 exhausts and been fairly satisfied. i haven't been able to find anything the q300 like the below. they're cheap enough that i might try one. just curious if anyone else has?

I have no experience with the exhausts you linked, BUT I do have a TopSpeed Pro-1 axle back, which is an ebay copy of the GReddy SP Elite muffler. While I'm pretty satisfied with it, fitment was sub-par and after this rather rough winter its showing to rust a bit.

I'd advise against buying it, because most times you get what you pay for. But hey, its your money.

2.25" piping. Not sure if that matters to you. I think the top speed ones are 2.25 also. If you are looking for some sound, go for it(or swap midpipe). If you are looking for gains, I'd look for a 2.5".

I got a q300 replica made by ikonmotorsports and the fitment, quality, and sound are excellent

Knock offs like these are real hit or miss.

I just removed a Greddy Evo 3 knock off ( Manzo) from my car last week and replaced it with a Perrin exhaust.

Manzo cost ~$400 shipped, so half that of the Greddy. Fitment was good, alignment was sub-par. One exhaust tip was completely centered while the other was a ~1/2in. off center. I could cut and reweld myself, or have a shop down the road do the work for me for $60, and it would be centered. Material is the biggest down fall. Lower grade metals will be used, so they will weigh more and not be as corrosion resistant, so keep that in mind.

EDIT: also, the Greddy is a true 3" pipe, the Manzo is 2.75", so like your q300 replica, its a 1/4" smaller on the inner diameter

The Q300 can be had relatively cheap and the fitment is pretty spot on.

I recently switch to the Perrin 2.5" resonated and love the sound note with a UEL. Just need to fiddle with the S-pipe to get the tips to align.

Such a PITA when you don't have a deep socket for the V-bands:mad0259:

Very true. The open ratchet sets come in handy too! I used those for the tops on coilovers to use along with an allen key. I didn't have the right socket size though on my open sockets for this one.

why cheap out on a exhaust... instead of getting a cheap exhaust just get a berk or namless muffler delete... atleast youll get quality if your budget is 300

Don't buy a cheap exhaust.. you will just end up replacing it once it rusts or cracks or you want some actual performance..

Merry Xmas.

I have a craftsman set that I let a friend borrow :paddle:
I also hate pittsburg pro. Broken a few of there tools within first month of ownership. Just broke a pair of there adjustable pliers trying to get my old exhaust off

i'd have to disagree with a lot of people on this thread. To me an exhaust is an exhaust. If you find one thats cheap, looks great from the rear, and sounds good, buy it. I would never spend $500+ on a catback. The worst catback vs. the best catback for these cars are the difference of $200 and $1500 and the difference is a couple hp. Also if it starts to surface rust, who cares, it was $200. 90% of people who own these cars daily them, 8% probably track/autocross, and 2% are probably on professional level where it matters for stuff like this
