I'm waiting until the snow is gone personally, whenever that may be...but it's really your preference

this is my first time storing it.

When did you take it to the street last year?

I wait for the salt to be washed off the roads. We still have 3-4 feet of snow, so that won't be for a while.

Just bought the car last March; had it on the road by the end of March because I was so anxious to drive it even though there was still a bit of snow on the ground

April 1 every year. Considering temperatures for summer tires and easier to start insurance coverage at first of month.

Tcoat 03-02-2015 10:28 AM

Last July! Coincidently that was when I got it!

FRSCanuck 03-02-2015 10:31 AM

usually after the first rainfall so all the salt gets washed away.

salt is my most important reason why i don't want my car to be in street right now. I better wait until rains wahsed off some of salts.

Probably like mid-march

RedFR-s 03-02-2015 12:18 PM

I am waiting for avg temp to hit ~+5 and most of the salt to be washed off. At this rate I figure it will be mid to late April.

If you're on pure summer tires, I'd wait for April at the earliest. I wait for temps to be above +10 before putting on my summers if I can help it.

That is my plan. The snows stay on until we get some consistent temps around 8 to 10 degrees.

Same here. Day time temps around 10 degrees with lows above freezing. Then I can switch over from my winters. No point in rushing it, although I know you guys who are storing your car are probably itching!! :)
