Any experience with appradio2 ?

Rather than spend 895 on a factory option... Was considering the appradio2 unit... Also will the stock mic and USB port work?

AppRadio 2 Installed

I had one installed yesterday. Could not hook up radio because he did not have the proper adapter. Any help here would be appreciated.

I had him do the right thing with the parking brake and it really gets in the way. I suggest bypassing.

Overall, I like the AppRadio better than the stock radio, but there are a number of issues.

It is slow to move between apps.
There is no way to stop the music without going to the music app which may be in the background.
I have to have the phone handy because I am constantly asked to allow access to the iphone.

I'd say I don't have enough time with it to give a proper opinion yet.

Word of caution on watching DVDs with newer nav decks and app radios:

Before you could just ground the parking brake line and all was good.
Now days, you have to release the P-brake and pull it again to enable the viewing of movies etc...

I've bypassed this on Appradios by getting a programmable relay to wait 4sec then ground, relase and then reground the p-brake line upon turning the ignition on. Thus allowing viewing of the screen whilst driving.

Just throwing that out there.

I wouldn't recommend it, I read reviews on amazon and they said the stereo was supper laggy and not enough apps. I bought myself a pioneer AVH-4400BH works great
