ACT XT Street Clutch impressions??

I'm in the market for a clutch for the turbo build. My goal is 330-350 whp so effectively around 300 ft/lbs, depending. Just curious as to people's impressions on varying clutches. I've heard that both the FX400 and ACT 6 puck are rather loud and puck clutches typically don't last as long, so trying to stay away from them. Does anyone have the ACT XT street clutch that could chime in? Was looking at the stage 3 southbend but they are currently reworking their clutch line up for our cars so they are no longer selling right now. Thanks!

Don't have an XT but I did just finish installing the street perf HD with streetlite flywheel and its a delight to drive. I'm also shooting for ~300whp and its said this clutch holds good till about 300wtq even though its rated at 270. The only time you notice you have a clutch is taking off and I'm sure this is because I've had it for less than 3 days. Another member here told me the XT is pretty stiff, similar to his ACT 6 puck now. The torque rating is under rated with these clutches so I'm really hoping to be just fine at <350whp. I drive the car every single day and I really don't want to get to angry at it.

My experience was that they won't fit stock flywheels. My local shop ordered the ACT flywheel for me to go with an Excedy clutch that fits with OEM. The ACT flywheel pins where wider in diameter than OEM/Excedy clutch and nothing fit. My shop was able to confirm with ACT that their flywheel is not compatable with OEM only ACT clutches. Not a problem if you are buying both but their website doesn't share that information if you are looking for parts separately. This was back at the time Excedy was having issues with their flywheels and nothing was in stock. I returned everything and got an OS Giken clutch instead. Best decision I ever made.

I ran this clutch with roughly 300rwhp and It slipped after 3 weeks of usage.. I may blame my self for getting the car tuned with this clutch before it being broken in. But all I did was order a 4 puck unsprung disc from ACT and tossed it in(all the other kits use the same pressure plates and flywheels, just disc is a different P/N), now the clutch is holding up awesome, It does make some awful noises, but I can deal with them because i no longer look like an idiot when i floor it and my car just revs and doesn't go anywhere!

Just would hate to see someone else have to do it twice!

I know this is super old.. but you had the XT, or HD pressure plate? The XT is rated for 350ft/lb at the crank, and I’m just under that. Do you know what torque you had at the wheels or crank at that time?
