Totaled Car - Looking to do a part out, question for mods

Hello, I recently totaled my vehicle and I've got a reasonable buy back offer that I really wanted to take advantage of. I'll need to sell the powertrain out of the vehicle however, and I was hoping to line up buyers prior to pulling the trigger on it.

I'd like to sell the complete engine minus the fuse box/wiring harness because they were damaged in the accident (right quarter impact that just barely clipped the radiator and actually didn't even put a hole in the radiator). The engine started up and ran perfect after the crash. I'd like to sell as much as possible all together (engine/trans/rear diff/axles/stock wheels and tires/ suspension) which off course go accross a number of different sub forums in the classifieds section.

How can I go about this within the rules of the forums. I want to be as open and transparent about my intentions as possible, because I'm hoping to get the shell of the car at net zero with enough money to repair the right quarter before starting a high horsepower build.

Thank you,

Mick

Unethical to sell something you don technically own. Buy it back and then sell it or just move on.

Is this legal? When i totaled my rx-8 i was tempted to do the same or at least keep the seats. But than again my insurance gave me back more than what i paid for and wanted to quit while i was ahead.

This...don't screw around with the insurance companies you don't want to be on the NICB list.

Sounds like he's buying it back, so it will be his to do with as he wants. Probably okay to post a "feeler" post as long as you don't take money, I would think.
